After the construction of the engine and cockpit of this kit, I lost interest for 3 years due to the lack of small detail. Now I'm building this in my backyard, curious about how it will look when painted.

As you can see, there is a nauseatic warping of the trailing edge. I'm trying to glue that shut.

Thanks, Holger. For all the precautions taken on the wing fixing last night, it had to be reassembled today. There really is little contact at the trailing edge.

The wing is assembled to the body today. The pit has been painted, the engine won't be shown and remains unpainted. Gun metal from Armypainter is used, I haven't used the airbrush on it yet.

The cowling is competely closed up, also the decision had to be made to build the kit wheels up. I have left the engine compariment and gun bay unpainted and apparently this is visible through the wheel bay.

The Dora wakes up again, it appears I have made a fitting error on the canopy base so I corrected that. As a consequence the base is slightly moved forward, but only experts can tell...

The canopy is masked, the wheelbays closed up (without struts in them! Those just wouldn't fit in) and the whole plane is primered with Rust-oleum light grey. Yes, also the mg's, I noticed... Now the fun can start!

Now RLM83 and RLM02 went on, the first Mr.Hobby and the second Tamiya.

After a difficult decalling stage the Dora is nearing the finish. I put it on a decapitated chandelier, so it's showing off both the under- and upside. This is also because of the drop tank, positioned in the middle.

Some exhaust traces added and repainted the gun metal parts.

It all comes nicely together Steven!

Thanks, Holger. Today you see the droptank (with decals from Trumpeter's 1/24 Bf109-G6, they're not in this kit) and the effects from a sludgewash.

I milled some tread detail in the tailwheel. Then after removing as much from the silvered decal outlines as possible, I sprayed it matt and uncovered the canopy.
