Word of warning- this kit has the wrong wheels! See ML Forum (Axis) - something is wrong in this new Pz4D...

Something is wrong. The DS tracks are about 2 cm too small. I have 3 kits assembled, sans the treads.

It's a shame that this kit is marred. The whole under carriage is wrong and it'll be expensive to get AFV Clubs under carriage plus some after market tracks. Too bad though as the subject is so interesting.

Another case of DML mix n match - using incorrect wheels and idler from another kit. Looks like I won't be buying any new DML kits for a while! 😛

THX for the heads up, H K
@ Urban, Yap Nice subject, but I can only imagine the price for a 2013 Dragon kit...
Do Dragon refund you, if you send it back?

The Tristar wheel and track sets sometimes pop up. Or maybe Trumpeter will reissue them...

Are the wrong wheels noticeable?

I just bought this for $25 USD

Would Nashorn wheels be correct? Sprue Bros. has a set for $15.99

It doesn't make sense.
You by a new kit just to see that you have to by an aftermarket set to make it right like Dragon announce it?

Yeah, pretty lame. Like their "new" Marder II kit - a slightly tweaked re-issue of the earlier kits but deleting clear parts, magic tracks, PE, metal barrel, decal options yet NOT fixing the sprocket that has one too many teeth or the shield "lips" that should extend to touch the shield where DML have left a gap. 😛
I opted for the much better older kit - how ironic!

Hunter I might be able to scavenge some older DML wheels from their older Panzer IV kits for you- not sure I'd have a full set though!

Good deal for our USA friends - the Marder with PE, barrel, magic tracks, etc - only $30.95 + $5.95 shipping

Julian that would be wonderful! Please let me know if you can find them, are you sure they are the correct wheels for this kit?, and are the ones provided that are wrong, is the difference noticeable?

I'd have to look into that..DAK is not my forte!

It's unfortunate dragon has gone from the "go to" model kit co. to becoming an untrustworthy manufacture who may throw in innacurate sprues to create a kit.

@Hunter = if my limited research is correct, it looks like DML has put the later wheels in the kit, not realizing - or caring- that they are not correct, nor do they fit. The Ausf A-E tires were only 75mm wide and later Ausfs were increased to 90mm to take the weight of the longer 75mm gun. If this was the upgunned long 75mm version that was retrofitted by the Germans the later idler and wheels would be correct. You need the earlier 75mm wheels. the hub is different too, if you look at the pics in the link provided by HK. It would also be more appropriate to have the D type idler not the E type. I may have the parts you need but I am not sure how they would fit into the suspension elements or if they would fit the DS tracks - if indeed the DS tracks are even long enough. I believe I have some D idlers somewher that may be useful, either Academy or Italeri. It looks like the lizard has deleted the old multi part moveable arms and included the simpler Smart kit type also.

I've just had a quick look - I do have the idlers but my wheels are all Ausf E and later..sorry! 🙁

How do I fix this????

According to reviews there are two versions of the idler wheels included, the late and the correct ones
