Mind if I keep an eye on your progress Sparky? You seem to have found the balance in detail vs scale, that kit is tiny in real life!

Thanks, I hope the paint job after all this will warrant spending this much time on sculpting a tiny model. I only really do aircraft in 1:72 and AFVs in 1/35 so this is a bit new for me. My main concern is that all these blobs of super glue will throw the scale off but at least I'm having fun.

Those texture came from rusting after the war. Many German stuff was standing in rain and weather for years. German steel was known for very plain.
Although your weald bead at the sockel of the gun is wrong. As you can see it was bolted.
But nice build so far
Greetings
Jörg

Thanks for constructive comments Joerg! You are probably correct about the shield, I will try to remove the texture. About the sockel, I uploaded another photo and it is more clear that there is a weld here plus the bolts. I know my weld seams are pretty harsh and oversized on this area so I will redo it according to this photo.

Yes, know I know, what you mean by doing a weld line there. There is a welded ring under the bolted socket to give the construction more strength. In your pic, you clearly see the gap between the welded ring and the socket. Nice of you, that you will change 👍

I stand corrected. I have removed the weld and not gonna apply another one to that area. Thanks for valuable information 🙂

Nice man! What paint did you use?
23. March, 22:20
Peter Segers
Nothing special really: base coat dark grey primer, shading with german grey, gradually toned down with white and light grey for larger surfaces for highlighting, dry brushing with metallic grey combined with silver (oil paint)

Nice job - I have one in my stash but I hat painting figure. Nice to see you added them to yours.

I don't like to paint figures too, but it is necessary for this kit. Without figures it would be far less, I think. I stucked with the motorcycle at the moment, I have to do a lot of customization.

Very nice indeed. Any diorama in a foreseeable future ?

I don't know right now. It's ultimately up to my son. He builds them and then I paint them right now. He normally has an idea of a diorama, so very possible.
