I have been working on this model as well, mine however is made by ESCI 1/9 scale I will post some pictures shortly for you, I have built the ESCI Harley Davidson WLA45 also 1/9 scale.....Now after I finish the R 75 I have the Dragon Sd.Kfz.2 1/9 scale Kleines Kettenkrad but I am wanting to get a little more experience before I finish them they are fun for the scale size and I am having issues with finding the right cement for the Dragon because I started to paint the 1/9 figure and nothing seems to hold well any suggestions?

Hello Leslie - the Revell BMW is the same as the Esci ones. (reboxed)

Thx a lot for hint - it's really very informative. I'll look tomorrow in a quiet minute at the site. But I think it will last a little while before I start with the BMW... ;).

Hi ...some time since this post but this kit is now expensive as its getting rarer , I've got the chance of a esci bmw /sidecar 1/9 but in Black /chrome wheels etc (after war civilian model) I'm thinking of converting to Wehrmacht but IS this exactly the same kit but a different finish Mike ?
28. September 2016, 06:30
Mike Kryza
Hello Simon - the BMW R 75 was specially build for the German Army. I think the Revell box includes the original sprues from Esci. Only with some colored parts. At that time the manufacturers don't change the parts/sprues like today.
28. September 2016, 17:35

I forgot - the military version has always(!) the sidecar.

Finished. Nothing fancy. Simple and spartan but I like it

Tamiya BMW r75 set with crew and two figures, the ones to the left of motorcycle. Kit is pretty basic and requires quite a bit of work but main purpose for me was to try working with pigments and weathering. No washes though

Feldgendarmerie resin figures I got on eBay, no idea about company, quite possibly some Chinese knock offs.

Knife rest/spanish rider/barrier scratchbuild from balsa wood, barb wire also scratchbuild.

Base and lamp MiniArt set, replaced wall with rubble because I made pig's breakfast from it (expletive deleted vacuform). I used wash here on coblestones

Finally found enough paints, tools, etc. from the move to start hacking again. This one is a quickie for my mother in law's birthday. She drove on of these at the end of WWII for the Luftwaffe as a feldwebel (womens auxilliary) serving on a AAA battery near Wurzburg.

Both motorcycle and armored personnel carrier are 24th Panzer - Division. I like the horse! The motorcycle is mechanized reconnaisance unit 1 under the Reichswehr. The Hanomog half track is 5th vehicle in 2nd platoon of 1st company on Russian front in 1942. The Tiger 1 Ausf. E tank is no. 232, sPaAbt 503, Russia, October 1943. The G4 German Staff car is for the commander-in-chief of the Wehrmacht.

Where can i get the decal sheet for this kit? Mine cam without any decals, and only a sticker referring to a certain German law prohibiting the distribution of Nazi symbols. I emailed Tamiya HQ about this, but they refer me to my local importer/distributor, which is the German importer..

LOl Maarten ;) By the way.... forget the german importer as they're.. hmmm... let me say it this way... toffee nosed. In my opinion they don't really care about the customers :O

What i also wonder is..........are those models cheaper than anywhere else because something vital (to me the decals are vital) is missing? Surely they are breaking some trade law by knowingly selling something defunct??

Hey! Guy.
Lets face who does have a clue at 16.
I thought, wrongly, as I now know, that I was INVINCIBLE, women swooned and fell at my feet knickerless. Beer came out of a free flowing non-payment never ending tap. I'd love to go back to visit, maybe not...

The base for this side car is the solo version also provided by SOL. I used the single BMW of SOL on my Natter dio. The first visual impresion of this kits was great but the fit was poor ( I had to shorten one frame because they had different length. Seems to be the same on the side car kit that I have in my stash.
29. August 2012, 20:29
Dirk Heyer
I scratch built since the complete framework . The Sol tyres are out of scale, too small! The original BMW 750 ccm was equipped with the same tyre size as the Sd.Kfz. 82 Kübelwagen . Quelle:
Die Kräder der Wehrmacht.
I cast a Tamiya Kübelwagen tyre and milled the rim away, so I could attached the Sol photo etched part.

Well done Dirk. I did not check the dimensions and built it out of the box. Most important for me was that it looks like a BMW :)
