That bloke looks so damn cool, is he aware that he is bound for a suicidal mission ?
4. May 2015 at 19:01:46
I think this guy has other plans than going on such a trip.
4. May 2015 at 21:53:21
Yep, like disarming the charge, change course, and spending the day at the beach with the girls.......

Hmm ... pretty much "Hanno". It's a story set post war, this character has got a hold of one of these little Barochino's, and has converted it into a "racing speedboat". As the American servicemen were asked about the dirt track speedway "Isn't that dangerous" to which apparently they replied "Yes Ma-am, but they ain't nobody shooting at us"!! So it is with this - I was toying with the idea of even dropping in a war surplus V8 engine, I can really imagine it with a Big old flathead hanging out the back! ... A project not to be taken too literally; but rather to be amused at by the possibilities.

.............. Also, the story dictates that this has to be built with few tools, few facilities and even fewer materials. Ergo the firing frame has been taken from the bow, and the deck opened up for access, the fancy looking air intake was a lucky acquisition (from a downed aircraft apparently) that he traded for some work he did - he now works at the old family boatyard you see?

So there's a story behind all this. Is it purely your fiction or has it been taken from a graphic novel, book, film
or something like that ? I recall a comic book called "The Sharks of Lagos" in which the main character found and modified a WW2 MTB, and used it for piracy. Hmmm.... sounds like agood project too....
I wouldn't push the V8 too far aside though.....

Here's something I've been toying with - a driver figure, and cooler than the other side of the pillow with his Ray-Ban "Wayfarers", "Panerai Radiomir" divers watch and the obligatory "Gauloises" ... well he's as cool as Steve will be and cooler thah I'll ever be. 1/35th, and that perch is 25mm wide by 18mm deep ............... (1"x3/8" give or take).
With a generous nod of appreciation to Acki whom it was that inspired me to have a go at this build. - Thanks.

Unfortunately not - it was the glasses idea that I blatantly stole from Acki - I just thought how fabulous the guy looked.
I wouldn't know "cool" if it slapped me in the face so I went with the clichés - Sunglasses, Watches and Smokes - it seems as though I may have stumbled on the formula?
I got my glasses from an Etch set by "Aber" ......... Acki's friend did a set but the shipping made it prohibitive to order direct.
I have remodelled the arm and hand to give him a smoking affectation and generally fettled with his clothing to make it less "cast in stone". The boat itself is going to be changed somewhat too, and I'll post when I'm a bit further along with it - Thanks for your interest.

Es-Haq is the one you are talking about.
Es Haq etched the glasses and Acki buyed them from him!
29. April 2015 at 11:16:46
Well done Andi! Thanks Holger!
I hope I can make the shipping less in near future.

Andy, if you want some pe´s from Es-Haq, just drop me a PM.

OK Guy's .... hope I haven't stood on any toes or offended anyone here? - that's just the way it all panned out. Sorry that I didn't keep it "in-house" so to speak.

Is the Gauloises with or without filter? Would be nice when you put the kit to your project. So everyone can see which kit you use.

Super Dein" kleiner Italiener" Acki !
Very authentic chipping and weathering. The interior details , the driver and the base look fantastic !
What a tiny little beauty in comparison with the 80 footer ! Did you start with the beast yet ?
18. February 2015 at 18:54:23
Thanks Christian and Hanno. Very pleased that you like this. The beast is still asleep. Waiting for its time.

Hey Acki, you´ve done a really nice job with this little italian one-way-boat. And the wooden deck or base is amazing. Is it in the box, too? Well, now I wait for the ELCO.

Hi Arne and Kim, thanks for your postings. The wooden deck is a deck for model ships. You can find them cheap in RC-Shops. The Elco has to wait. No place for the monster now but it´s coming.
I asked myself if the M.T.M looks so used as I made it but I found some pics on the booklet that comes with the kit and in the web. So I took it as a nice practice for painting wood and weathering.
Thanks for looking.
