Greg Baker I'm scared to ask, but which one were you refurbishing? I'm awaiting the arrival of a couple of 1/144 LEE boxings of this same LS kit. Was this a previously built reclamation project?
Your 1/144 Area 88 projects inspired me. I just finished my first one "The Bloody Screw"

Nils Steyaert yes Greg, it was indeed a refurbishment of an older model, but i put the project on hold in hopes to solve the clouded canopy problem. the reason i refurbished an older model is that the F-20 hasnt been available for a few years, however i recently found a few of them on Aliexpress in the Mini Hobby models box.
so i decided to scrap the old tigershark and build a new one.

Nils Steyaert work has begun again, this time with a new Mini Hobby Models F-20 kit (same ex-LS kit).
it needs a lot of sanding and filing to make the fit right, but i doubt it will look as good as the 1/72 version, as this mould is already very old. i have decided to swap out the exhaust nozzle with that of a revell F/A-18.

Greg Baker Oh, now that's a good idea. I might have to steal that suggestion as well. Hey Nils, do you have any thoughts on a 1/144 F-111? I heard the ARII kit is the best, but there's also a Trumpeter one that seems to have no info on it but seems easier to get.

Nils Steyaert i have built both the trumpeter (minicraft) and arii kit (and i have 3 of the Mini Hobby Model reboxes), they are the same kit.
Greg Baker I've got plans for one of these. I'd love to see the build progress.

JOHN THOMAS Greg the work on my Tigershark has stalled. I got the kit at a model show and there were no decal sheet. I am look to get another kit may be off ebay. Until than I am working on my Jolly Rogers Project. Photos up soon

Greg Baker I can probably hook you up with the decal sheet. My kit is destined for another Area 88 Whif build, so I don't think I need them. I'll take a closer look and let you know.

JOHN THOMAS Greg, Thanks, but I just order a new kit off of ebay. I will have my Jolly Rogers project photos part-1a and part-1b up today
JOHN THOMAS Cool, is it the P-51D or P-51B/C or the P-51A. I have all three kits and you are right they are nice little kits. Boy do I need to build more. The F-20 should be a quick build so I can get on to my TOP GUN project. Hunter should I do the TOP GUN Project in 1/72 or 1/48? I have the kits to do both. however if I do it in 1/48 I will have to use the older Monogram F-14, F-5 and A-4s kits with the raised panel lines. I will have to make The TOP GUN decals in 1/48 as I have them only in 1/72. The Monograms kit are not bad they have nice cockpits. I just cant go out and spend $100 dollars on a Hasegawa F-14. In 1/72 scale I have everything I need.

JOHN THOMAS I love the movie to but first thing first, Need to finish the F-20 before moving on to TOP GUN.
JOHN THOMAS OK, Thanks David and Kaiyu. Did some painting over the weekend. Have the first coat of Dark Gray on. Will post some new photos soon.

JOHN THOMAS Once again AMS has gotten the better of we on this project. Once again I have set this project aside. I am not liking how it is progressing. after the first coat of paint I just was not feeling it. So back to the unfinished pile it will go and most likely stay. However some good news I will reboot the F-20 project and start a new project using Hasegawa's 1/72 scale F-20. After opening the the box I found it to be a better detailed kit than the older 1/48 scale Monogram kit. I have gotten the cockpit under way and will start a new Album soon, so stay tuned.
Phil Marchese I like to watch!
Always thought this on was a looker...no F-104 but close.

Dutch Phil, Yes, F5G/F-20 was quite a performer. I saw a video of Chuck Yeager flying it. Pretty impressive. Actually, I don't care for the kit supplied Northrop company decals. So I thought to do a "Whiffie" c/s for ATAC, the adversary guys. R/ Dutch
