I was wondering, have you ever build an IBG kit? Because in virtually all reviews they are talking about the brittle plastic and parts easily breaking? And if you have built one (or more), was it the same in your kits?

I did a quick check on the IBG kits that I have but on first glance it didn't look too brittle to me?

IBG has the Einheitsdiesel with Bilstein crane as well of course but the AFV Club looks more interesting (to me anyway). At some point I will be getting the IBG as well though

The new Bronco and Mirror Models British Morris C8 trucks are of great interest as well btw. After last year's Mirror Models plastic kit of the FAT (#35122), these up and coming versions by Bronco and Mirror Models are very much welcomed. Now we finally have some proper choices of (plastic) kits to tow our British 17Pdr and 24Pdr guns

John Van Kooten Hello Ingo,

I know your post is quite old but I was wondering about one thing in the review you wrote in the MBK webshop for this kit.

You say the kit has a height issue, where you said it is 11mm too low? If I may ask, where did you get this information from? Because from what I can tell the kit is pretty much spot on? And none of the reviews and none of the posts I have found through google of people that built the kit are mentioning this height issue?

Take a look at the images below. The first image shows the kit on the left and a photo of the original vehicle on the right. It looks to me like the height is spot on?

You also state that soldiers would not be able to stand straight. That is correct. The actual real vehicle is indeed quite low and soldiers were, in fact, not able to stand straight. You can see that in the second image which is in one of my reference books. If you compare body length of the soldiers to the overall height of the truck it is clear that they would not fit standing up straight. Other WWII photos of this vehicle found through google show that as well.

So I would very much like to know the source of your information, so I can make notes in case the information I have available is wrong I think it is important to get the correct information out in the open, especially since you rated the kit with one star, which basically means it is rubbish (which I honestly don't think it is).

mavo @ Wiliam: The update set is not so bad, but the resin pieces are partially worse than the kit parts...
And for the opened rear doors, I want to put the truck into a small loading scene.

I finally finished painting my Einheitsdiesel, but at the moment, I don't have a really good idea for a scene to place it.
So, it will be put aside to raise again somewhat later..

william wise really nice work on this Einheits your modulation and shading are outstanding i think the German grey is the hardest color to modulate, did you use the the AK set?

mavo Thanks a lot!
I used the vallejo model-air panzer grey as base color and gave it some Highlights. For the Modulation, i used different MIG washes and blended pigments.
It was the first time that i used AK White Spirit instead of lighter fuel to blend the washes and the pigments. It dries somewhat slower, but the effect is much better!
The bigger part of my kits in the last time (not all of them are presented here until now) were painted in panzer grey and i have to say that when you try the one or the other method, the results get more and more convincing.
Nonetheless, my next one gets a three-tone-pattern...

The prices I seen were ranging in the 10-15$/? bracket.
