Sherman Mac Shermy.
Primed and ready to go.
Will tone down the white during the weathering phase.
I found a rather good reference site regarding Shermans, because I needed a reference point for cast turrets. Especially where the upper cast is joined to the lower cast. It is: www.the.shadock.free.fr/sherman_minutia/index.html
So. I distressed accordingly.
A little to much methinks.
Sanded back the exuberance a bit.
Some more noodling on the paint and varnish applied. Ready for decalling.
Decals applied. The turret stars will be blacked out, although some will be obscured by the haversacks (although, pondering how they were strapped on as I cannot see any attaching points)
Final detail painting done too.
The varnish. It has certainly changed the tone of the paint work, again. But in a good way.
Time to weather and then onto the Crew and Baggage.
In between shouting at the wall, for not being plum, the anaglypta and the Wife. I got the first bit of weathering down.
Tracks on and partially weathered and started on the crew.
Got some base flesh colour on Eric, Jack and Ginger, which consisted of Vallejo Dark Flesh, Off White and Revell Aqua Blue.
Billy already in the tank, Dusty and Frank ready to go in. So shiny, more weathering will beat them back.
Stowage going on. I will have to flatten the home made tarp, though.
Snap the scaffy' board too and rough it up.
Stowage on. Final coat of Matt Varnish to come and maybe some more weathering?

Carlos CisnerosIf its not too late for you, you might want to repaint the inner faces of the hatches into olive drab, that was the standard practice.

Mark SherwoodAy up Carlos. I'm aiming for a thin wash of OD and grime, during the weathering stage. On the very rare occasions the inner surface of the hatches were painted the same as the interior, to look as if the crew rectified this. 👍🥸🤘

Mark SherwoodNow then Doubtingmango thank you. The colours are on the project colour /inventory section of the Project Page. But I used Tamiya XF 62 O/D as a base, but mixed with XF 1 Black for shadowing, then mixed with XF 55 Deck Tan for a lighter shade, then XF 3 Yellow for further lightening, fading. Vallejo Model Colour German Grey RAL7016 for the tyres on the road wheels.
