This kit has raised panel lines, but I plan to remove them and scripe panel lines into the primer paint, which is easier than scribing into plastic (and maybe looks much nicer). Paul Budzik has a video about that topic on youtube, scribing into primer paint.

For that reason Treehugger, I have purchased the Special Hobby AJ 37 Viggen #SH48148, this kit has fantastic crispy recessed panel lines! As of now, watching with interest Victor...😉 👍

Hi! This kit is indeed of rather poor quality. But I knew that already before I bought it. I will probably use this kit as testcase to improve my airbrush skills. With the dark camo I hope the lack of detail isn't that obvious.

Thanks for pointing out the way to scribe panel lines. Cool, but too much effort for me. I recommend buying the more expensive Special Hobby kit.

I thought this kit was basically ok, but I can't say anything about its accuracy. The only thing that was apparently off was its nose, so I bought a resin nose for this kit.

I built this kit. I re-scribed the panel lines and used a Neo-Mega resin cockpit, and resin wheels. It was a fun build and even with the up grades cost less than the Special Hobby one, which also has it's own problems. I could not get the resin intakes and fan face as they were out of stock, but are aviabale again.

Clifford, I found this resin part, but is this the one you were referring to, or are there also intake parts in resin?

I thought maybe this resing part at the rear, would be enough, if removing the plastic at the inside of the intake area.

Yes that is the part. Phase Hanger Resin also makes a set of resin intake trunks for the Special Hobby/Tarangus kit. I wonder if they could be modified to fit this kit. I did not know they existed when I built mine.
