I remember the first Airfix kit I made years ago (Grumman Gosling 1:72) and how much I cursed due to its poor quality. I've always had a volatile relationship with Airfix. However, it is very pleasing to see that they have been in a serious recovery in the last period and that they have released very high quality kits one after another. The new molded Bristol Blenheim i've recently built, this kit (Avro Anson), another new mold Buccaneer waiting to be built, all great kits. However, for the first time, this kit is so enjoyable that I say "I wish it never ends" instead of saying "I get bored, let it end as soon as possible". An engineering marvel, from the parts section to the overall design. Don't mind me using putty here and there, I did it as a precaution in case there are some micro holes left so that they fill up to avoid entering paint and IPA-fumes into the canopy, otherwise it is not necessary.
A word about Eduard. I really liked Quinta's products when 3D decals first came out, Eduard couldn't achieve the required quality at that time. But over time they've got better and I've decided that 3D printing everything (especially the belts) doesn't make much sense, because they cannot be bent, e.g. belts have to be bent in case of most WW2 planes and they break. Here Eduard has also captured the advantage of being an experienced photoetch producer very well and I think they have offered the better combination. That's why I now prefer such products of Eduard, if they are available on the market, of course.

I had been tempted to buy an Avro Anson kit from Classic Airframes before, but had given up on it due to its old age and too many resin parts. I bought this aircraft as soon as Airfix released its new kit, which was molded with modern injection methods. I've never regretted it. This model was the best I've ever done and the one I enjoyed the most. Although it was very difficult and very detailed, every part of it fell into place perfectly. Without further ado, it is a model that every modeler should do at least once. Thanks and hats off to Airfix for this beautiful model.
