Copper State Models French AC Mod.1914

Album image #1
My son built this kit. I really love Copper State Models kits, but have not actually built one myself yet. I love everything about them though. My son built this over the weekend, and I painted and decaled it. This was the pre-order and it came with these cool trees and hill camo scheme. I painted it with Tamiya XF25 mixed 50/50 with MLT. I had a hard time getting these decals to settle down, but with a few coats of Micro sol they formed to the surface beautifully. I then sprayed it with a VMS satin finish.

My son was working on this for the last three nights. He loves weathering, and he normally goes way over the top with his chipping and mud, but I feel like he really did a great job keeping everything subtle. He made the French flag with putty and painted it with Tamiya paints.

He loves putting on extra stowage. He was very proud of his additions.

I really like the dirt and mud on the bottom of the front of the car here. Like I said in a previous photo, he tends to go way over board with weathering effects, so I really like how he got the bottom to look dusty.

Fantastic work! I love this unusual and "ingenious" camo... 😉

Thank you. I will get some new photos up soon. My son made a little French flag that he draped over the side, which turned out really well. He also has gone to town using oil washes. I told him less is better, so we will see how he does.
