Alex : I do feel like I'm letting people down if I don't do a few gags. Although it's a lot easier with a Stegosaurus than with a some other subjects. As JD said, it's a funny looking dinosaur.
JDI enjoyed it so much that I went ahead and ordered the Velociraptor, and am thinking about acquiring more Dinosaurs ? ?

Steven Van DyckI too think there are too few dino kits available, I now made about 3 and it seems that's about half there exist. Nice steggy, Gorby, be sure to feed it well.

I've always been fascinated with prehistoric creatures, although I'm much more interested in life before the dinosaurs, there's precious few kits of anything pre-dinosaury. I also prefer veggie dinos to those nasty, anti-social ones, that's why I chose Steggie. Probably not an ideal pet though. Obviously you'd get a lot of cachet of having the only extinct pet at the park. On the down side would be the size of the poo bags and trying to stop it hogging the sofa. And if it's happy to see you it's not going to end well if it starts wagging it's tail.
My Steggie kit was supposed to be just about playing with paint so I planned to build as Tamiya intended. Looking at his crouching, draggy-tailed stance he looked sooooooo pathetic I had to do something. Rather than being a bit of a drag the alterations turned out to be my fav bit. Not that I'm saying my Steggie is anatomically correct – just a bit better than it was.
I even enjoyed painting, which is a bit of a novelty for me. I very carefully considered the colours and the pattern. Painstakingly airbrushed it to the best of my ability... and then almost completely obscured it with grime. As this is supposed to be quite a few million years before bathtime, my freshly painted Steggie looked too bloody clean so I went grubby. Having a brain the size of a walnut (Steggie not me) I assume that personal grooming wasn't high on there list of priorities. Probably every thought which didn't involve food or sex just sort of failed to gain any grey-matter traction. The same is true for most of the troglodytes I've encountered as well.
I hope this has brought back memories for some of us oldies, of when dinosaurs were real dinosaurs and men were real small furry rodents. No doubt all of us know someone who still is.
