It scares me but I eventually must leave the shallow water in the pool and learn to swim in deep water as well.

Plus, If I get rid of this beast there's gonna be more room for 1:72 kits...

I will watch with interest. I'm planning to do the same and I'm wondering how parts will fit.

What a damn amount of additional work! But the result shall be rewarding!
And how does it feel to build such a big block of plastic?😉

I hope I'm gonna be able to finish this one before midsummer this year but everything is so big compared to what I'm used to.

Do you have a mask for sanding resin or do you do it like me and sand wet?

Yes and no! I've got a mask that I'm keeping forget to use. I try to use the saw as much as possible and use the vacuum cleaner frequently and when I sand I do it with slow strokes but I sand dry.

True! It's a new experience to tackle replacing resin parts. It's one thing just adding some resin stuff and a whole new world here with a lot of work to get it right and a lot of guessing. But the detail is stunning on the Aires resin.

Thanks mate! I believe that "resin madness" is indeed the correct term here. I hope that I won't let you down.

That gives one week of building at yet not one piece glued or painted so far on this build but I did manage to get some blood on the resin so it looks good for the future.

No, I don't use my Dremel on the resin. GWS saw, exacto and beutyshop nailfiles is what I use on the resin.

That cut was healed to the next day, just a matter of letting it bleed a bit and then just wipe it off with the thumb on the same hand and keep going..
I've got a Dremel but I feel that I've got more control going by hand.
Not much PE involved in the build, just the fret that comes with the Aires cockpit.
I'm quite fond of the PE mini razor saws and use them quite a lot.

True that as there's no technique that is absolute for all modellers. For a new builder it's a bit trial and error in order to find out what techniques that works best.

A little late Urban but I'm pulling up a chair and watching the rest of the show. Looking good so far. Will there be more blood?

Thanks mate! There could be more blood as there's a lot more work to do yet, especially as there's not been any work done on it since the last update. An eight year old promise got in the way plus I've had quite a lot of ache as well but I hope to be able to continue soon.

Been there, DONE THAT. lol 🙂 But it's not modelling unless you can show some scars for your efforts. 🙂

Yeah mate, it's not a proper build without a proper blood offering to the modelling Gods...

My first ever venture into 1:32 and also the first time I deal with resin of this magnitude.
