U9 became well known, operating successfully at the beginning of the Great War in the North Sea under Kapitänleutnant Otto Weddigen.

The kit is nicely detailed and fits very well together. It may be suitable to replace the ship's masts by steel masts. But as far as I found out they are not yet available in the aftermarket.
