Printing, washing and curing done.
That was quite some work.

Resin is rather brittle, I realized. Despite it being a model that can be moved, I certainly did something wrong here.
While trying to attach the limbs the U-parts of the joints broke off which means that this Catapult will be no "action figure".

The ball joint of one leg did not print properly either, again. Arms and legs have been printed twice now because of some problems, incomplete joints or they were warped, but I won't print these parts again. I guess that I did something wrong. I guess some reading and more experience will show me some time in the future.

Not sure how I want to paint this Mech yet.

This looks like a good way 👍

Main colours applied. Next will be some details and scratches as well as chipping before applying some gloss coats.
I just went a bit wild with the camo and colours and tried some stuff. A huge machine like that won't be able to stay hidden anyway. 😄

A little bit of progress.
I have applied some chipping with NATO Black and a sponge. Here and there the sponge was still a bit too wet and the chipping became far too heavy.
May add some more, not sure yet. I don't want to overdo it.

Great result. But I thought IS mechs are all heavily weathered. All these succession wars and lost technologies...

Thank you, Dmitri.
Well, you are right. With 'Mechs often being hundreds of years in service, them looking heavily weathered is fitting.
I am not too deep into the lore, but I still assume there must be ways to keep them in service, replace parts, like new armor plates, actuators and so on. And there must be some pristine machines for parades and more.
Or maybe even build some new ones, like Clan machines for example. I think I need to scour the wiki now. 😄

You mean Sarna. I believe you are right, there are production of new mechs and very well equipped units. Anyway great work it's so pitty that foot hinge is broken.

"Reactor Online. Weapons Online. All systems nominal."
Catapult finished.

I am not really satisfied because of the broken joints but I think it still looks nice.
Because of the broken joints the parts are just holding with superglue and posing it was really hard, glueing too.

There are some of supports are fused with the parts because of bad preparation for printing.
But screwing things up should help me making it better next time. 🙂

Looks great. Played loads of mech commander on the PC when I was a teenager. Vulture was one of my favourites.

Thank you very much mates. You kind words are much appreciated. 🙂

The next Battlemech is already in production. But I got some real trouble to print the spheres for the ball joints, like I had here.
This will require some more try and error...
