great work, are you also going to do Count's Su-33 or Avril's F-104C?

@Nils Idk, I have Pixy's F-15 lined up for next year, maybe I'll try some Russian jets after that.

Album info

I'll try to take some nicer pics when there's a sunny day.

The overall experience building this kit is pleasant, though there are small issues here and there. To be honest I expected a little better from a 2010 kit, but I digress.

The main issue I have is with the intakes. Without any fillings, there will be giant gaps both inside and outside the intakes. The assembly is also a bit wonky, it took so many dry fits to get it right. The gaps at sides of the nose need to be propped open when assembling, otherwise they will get pushed in.

There were some other minor things to take care of, such as the nozzle walls require sanding and rescribing, and the wings' leading edges need some filing.

Academy was kind enough to provide 2 canopies and clear weapons bay doors. I thought they meant that I could display the weapons with doors closed. It was until near the end I realized the AMRAAMs won't fit without modding. At this point I was exhausted and just left the painted door on.

Anyway, this is the last model for me in at least a while. I'm leaving for school in about a month, and I'll get back on the F-15C Pixy sometime next year.

WIP description:
Fits okay. The intakes look horrible and inaccurate. details around the nozzles are basically mold lines. But I don't think other 1:72 Raptors are much better. The tanned canopy is nice I guess.
