V2 Rocket Meillerwagen Hanomag SS100
This is one of the largest kits I have ever built.
This is also my first Takom kit. It fits together very well. Its a very detailed kit, but I find the instructions a little confusing at times.
I liked the detailed engine, but am disappointed that once the body is on, you will never see this engine.
I painted the whole thing Tamiya nato black, then Tamiya German grey. I painted the exhaust manifold Vallejo metal color and then a MIG light rust wash. I also added some MIG light rust wash to the leaf springs.
I know the fan blades are supposed to be German grey also, but I wanted some contrast so I painted them MIG dark red.
The chipping is a Tamiya XF-11 chrome silver dry brushed on.
I also added some AK engine oil on spots that I thought might be leaking oil.
The fenders and wheels took me over an hour to install. This was very difficult to get together.
This also took me a long time to set up to paint. I was not sure the correct order to paint and what to install or paint first. This is what I finally decided to do.
I decided to go with the German grey color scheme.
I need to add the decals and a clear coat. The Tamiya flat German grey paint scratches off very easily.
The front wheels are meant to be able to turn, but I broke the axle in half trying to put on the tires, so I had to glue them on solid.
I just took this photo to show how big the truck is. This is next to the Japanese Type 97 tank. They are both 1/35 scale.
I have never used PE parts before. I am still up in the air if I enjoy working with PE or not.
This is my first Takom kit. The fit is very nice and I have no problems with the kit at all. It is the most difficult kit I have every tried to build. Its defiantly not the easy build Tamiya kits I used to.
Now its awkward to work with. There is no safe place to grab and hold this thing.
This part also took me well over an hour to build.

I think ICM (iirc) has some kits with German WW2 drivers, which could be a nice addon I think. Or, is a driver included in the kit perhaps?
