yes and quite easy to do. Kudos for scale-a-thon for this technic. Its a bit more fragile than resine tho, but I really like the effect.

I also remember this scene - very nice job on this diorama!

Outstanding. Impressive and great work, but why did you repainted the shark? in that grey it looks a bit unrealistic
4 May 2022, 17:35
Phil M
the puppet from the early movie is all grey on top and grey white under. Since we only see the top of the shark for the diorama, it may look all grey, but under its a bit more pale, but yes, I should have paint it a bit more obvious maybe. I needed to repaint it cause I wanted to close the gap from the mouth. It also looks more like a toy without the paint and got too many color that dont fit the color of the shark in the movie.

Can some one help the pilot please? He looks so scared!

Robin (WhiteGlint)
Well, the shark's already there to help him out of the downed chopper. 😄

What a lifelike, dangerous scene it is! May I ask those alum. foil making for? 👍
5 May 2022, 14:28

Just regular aluminium paper. I follow the tutorial of scale-a-thon, but add some green clear and some wave effect product from woodland scenics: Youtube Video Its very easy to do. Sea blue is very dark, so you may want a more pale color if you want something looking less ''deep sea".

Congratulation 👍
I took the opportunity to click through the album again in its entirety. What a wonderful job on a dynamic scene! The question marks immediately appear in the viewer's mind: What happens now? Does the rotor bend?
I am looking forward to the next ideas and projects!

I've been wanting for a long time to create this diorama, as I love this scene from jaws 2 when I was a kid. Its so over the top. So I bought an old MRC kit for the bell helicopter HTL-4 (1:35), I think its made by Academy now. I found the real helicopter from the movie (Hughes 269B) but it was too expensive and a bit out of scale. the MRC instructions are really weird and difficult to follow, its easy to forget pieces or skip some steps. I didnt use all the detail form the engine (too fragile) but add some wires in the cockpit. I found a shark figure and a vietnam helicopter pilot (better figure for the dio than the one in the kit). I saw a video from scale-a-thon "How to Make a Realistic Ocean Diorama Base" on youtube. Perfect technic, as I didnt want to waste a lot of resin to build the dio. I had some "water wave" effect from Woodland scenics. Really glad of the result.
