The mold is quite old and it shows.

Removed the flash from the hull and superstructure, sanded and polished a bit. Will also enlargen all the tiny holes for easier insertion - after I found a small enough drill.

Album image #6
Had to cut off some pins and other small bits for a better fit.

Everything seems to fit quite well now.

I decided to go with the paint scheme from the instructions although it is most likely not historically accurate.

At least I could not find anything resembling that pattern after a bit of internet searching.

For ejector pin mark holes, I like using Vallejo putty (white and fairly non toxic) by specifically filling the hold AND also creating this ice cream top shape, because the putty tend to shrink, but with a small top on the stuff, I can let it dry for some hours, and simply cut the top off with a sharp blade, and just drag a sanding stick over to clean it all up.

I don't intend to use putty on this project, for one because I don't have any at the moment, but also because this is just a small starter to get back into building. But I will keep your advice handy for future projects, thanks.
