Wow that's very nice. Very impressive given the ingredients - I love old kits, but even I look the other way when I see a SMER or KP logo.

You're right, Neil. Kits from Směr and KP are not very good. But there are a few exceptions. And also some kits from the range of these two companies are not produced by anyone else.

Awesome work, Ludvik (as always 😉 )! I have fond memories from my childhood connected with Smer kits. And the Breguet Br.690 kit, for example, is quite good and complex, IMHO.

to Robert:
I also like the Smer kits. They are not perfect, but they provide space for creative work. And I like that. 🙂

Děkuji Ricardo! 🙂

Yes, this Avia was in a way an "ugly duckling". The serial machines were nicer. This machine was specially adapted for record flights and its appearance was subject to purpose.

Excellent work. I must say I really like the shape of this bird, although I am admittedly a bit biased 😉

Thank you all! I would very much like to meet you again at one of my other projects focused on the beginnings of the Czechoslovak Air Force. There will definitely be another Avia BH series among them, because this "family" is numerous. 🙂

Album info

Reconstruction of the appearance of the record machine Avia BH-9.11, which became famous for its non-stop flight Prague - Paris - Prague, which took place on August 31, 1925. This aircraft was created by modifying the serial machine Avia BH-9.

In the beginning, there was a simple project that only envisaged enlarging the original parts at a scale of 1:50 to a scale of 1:48 and adding the missing details. With the gradual acquisition of more detailed documents, the project gradually grew into an extensive reconstruction. I made new wings, an aerodynamic engine cover, a new more detailed cockpit, new measuring instruments, external fuel lines, tank caps and other small details. I tried to get my model as close as possible to the real plane. Unfortunately, there is relatively little data and some details do not exist. I made these parts according to what they looked like on the mass-produced Avia BH-9. A detailed description of the whole construction is here: Avia BH.9, KP Prostějov 1:48 - model building | Album by KLuK (1:48)
