Album info

The E-5 Panzerkleinzerstorer nicknamed "Rutscher" was a German two-man tank destroyer originally proposed in the mid-40s, although only a wooden mock-up was built before the end of the war. The armament was to be two smoothbore 8cm PAW 600s, which fired HEAT and HE rockets. Because of the relatively low trajectory of the rounds, the tank most likely would have been used in point-blank ambush scenarios.

The kit is Amusing Hobby's Panzerkleinzerstorer repackaged by Das Werk. The build is fairly simple and has pretty good details. The only additions I made were an electrical cable for the headlight, augmented the weld lines with stretched sprue and liquid cement, added flame-cut marks, some light armor texture using liquid cement, and adding a stretched-sprue antenna. I airbrushed the base coat with Model Master Enamels and hand-painted the green camouflage with Vallejo Panzer Aces Camo Olive Green. I kept chipping light, to replicate a more realistic wearing down of the paint over a short amount of time. Weathering was done with Vallejo Light Gray Mud and various Model Master Enamels and chalk pastels mixed with enamel thinner. Enjoy!
