496: The Resurrection

After spraying on the black primer, I went over it with Vallejo acrylic white primer. This will allow me to do some shading work with the raised panel lines. 

The original kit contained 4-bladed propellers and engine nacelles for later models of C-130. Ozmods' resin correction kit contains all the parts for making 496 into the 3-bladed version that my father flew. 

Either the kit parts were a smidge too small or the resin parts were a smidge too big. The issue was a small one, and easily fixed with some filler, sanding sticks, and plenty of patience. 

The drones are in great shape, but their decals aren't. I attempted to save them by sliding a small brush loaded with Future underneath the decal, then brushing over top of it. The closer one has not been treated.
