👍 Yesterday started airbrushing my truck cabine, trying to figure out how much airpressure is needed.
Have the compressor in between 1,5 and 2 bar and on airbrush air is not fully opened...gonna look at some vids on youtube about that.

This compressor gets quite hot while using. Take care.

Looks like a nice setup. For the compressor getting hot, invest in a small desktop fan to put next to it to blow air across the pump.

Thx for telling me this, Haven't noticed this yet but will check it when using. is the whole upper unit getting hot or only the cilinderpart? Think I have some big pc fans that I can use for it 🙂

The grey compressor part. Not the black tank. Also don't forget to drain the moisture trap, you'll be surprised how much water get's in there 😄

I do have a big compressor in my garage wich I use for my bigscale gasoline cars to clean and that 1 isn't getting to hot cuz it gets enough fresh air. And I know that you have to drain the water out but it's not that much at all on the big 1. Don't know if the smal compressor generate more water. the small compressor is in my hobbyroom.

and make sure that you thin your paint down enough and I suggest that you start using acrylics better for your health

When I bought the big stash, there was alot of enamel paints with it (over hundred) and most of them are still un-opened so I want to use them. That's alot of money to just throw away 😛 When I don't have a color and need 1, I buy the acrylic version.

And I do thin the paint, cuz some of them are really thick. This weekend made a mistake and found out that if you use thinner for enamels in a acrylic paint that you get butter lol...

And for the health part...my health is already bad, I'm in a wheelchair cuz of bad bones and muscles.
I have reuma, artritis and severe osteoporosis..
Made a paint booth myself from cardboard, light and a vacuum cleaner and works great 😄 also using a mask when airbrushing.

Just keep on learning and asking questions and improving your knowledge! We are here to help each other succeed! yes each type of paint requires different thinners. to thin enamels use mineral spirits, not thinner. acrylics need acrylic thinner, and now thinking, I've never thinned lacquers.

Atm I'm using revell color mix for enamels and revell aqua color mix for the acrylics

Album info

Last few months bought some tools for the hobby.
Bought a cheap airbrush set to start learning airbrushing.
To learn how to use it, I'm starting with parts to big to paint and get familiar with it.
