That cockpit is nice... the idea for presenting it too...

This Looks really good! I heard rumors about some gaps who appear whilst building. Can you confirm it? Must be the upper side and can be comouflaged with kit parts.

@Holger - Yes, unfortunately... I've been test-fitting the 2 fuselage halves around the cabin as I progress and let's just say... I am not looking forward to joining them. There are large gaps both on the bottom and top, and I don't think there's anything you can do to prevent it happening. Theoretically you can close the bottom one, resulting in a larger gap at the top which can be covered by the engine housing. But.... the engine housing then doesn't fit properly on top either. I'll try to get a photo of the problem on here!
It is the only difficult gap issue I've encountered though, and weighed against the detail quality of the kit, it's probably still worth it

Good to know that. And i still wanna have the kit. Am i a bit Masochistic?
5. July at 12:15:27
Maybe a bit! I've put a few photos on to show the extent of the gap you may or may not encounter.

Very nice Stephen
Your progress looks fantastic and don't worry about the gap. Perfect Plastic Putty and the gaps are gone

Thanks guys! I was really happy with this one

Good stuff! Love the mascot on the left front light-guard
Also a solid custom job on the turret armor structure - actually I think it´s a pity you covered it up with the rolled-up canvas in the finale...

A fantastic result. The assorted stowage items and crew figure really bring it to life. Very cool.

Is there any news on this? Certain websites had it marked down for a 2018 release... Hopefully it will appear this year to coincide with the Tornado's RAF retiral.

That´s a seriously cozy place inside that Panther
Looking good, received a healthy portion of love & care, I like the chipping in the Turret interior, right place, right amount
Did they really had the torsion bars open & visible, or is this a kit feature to show more good stuff?

Thanks! I'm not sure I'd do such a complicated model again until I have more experience, though! Haha.
The torsion bars are only really visible when the turret is removed, I think. But the model, I have to say is almost entirely accurate to the real thing. I was building it while following along to a couple of very detailed books on the Panther interior and was constantly surprised at how many little details RFM got right.

A great kit! (Probably not for beginners, as I found out...) The cut-away idea is something I hope to see repeated with other kits in 1/35.
