Nice. Watching this makes me want to order that putty😉

Thanks, Lukasz. Is it that obvious that I am enthusiastic about it? 😄 My hobby is rather time limited and this putty is a timesaver and extremely gentle to thin paint layer.

Oh nice Prowler, i´ll take a seat!

I have to admit I wonder how much better (and reusable) it is when compared to BluTack.

Lukasz, that stuff is some Kind of blue tac. You can reuse it many many times. And the Price is very affordable.

Do you have some pictures of the build as well?

Lukas and Holger, compared to bluetac this putty is not at all sticky. It grips on model mainly via shape. Both do the job, but I wouldn't cover the entire plane with BlueTac 🙂 This blob just eats the model by itself.

Patrick, sorry no earlier photos exist, but I spent half a day positioning the nasty Hasegawa transfers (they are really resistant to all kinds of setters (worked with Microscale, Tamiya Strong, AK)

Too bad... Well then, picture 1 is still picture 1 and we'll follow from that point on. 👍 🙂

Looking great! I really like your preshading work. This caught my eye, as I'm working on the same build at the moment. I agree with you, the decals were a pain. I got some Solvaset and that did a decent job, but I still had a little bit of silvering in a few spots (but that's probably more due to missing a few spots during surface prep). I can see you also chose not to use the super yellow leading edge decals. What did you use for that color?

Nice work so far and the same question as philoticmodeler - what color do you use. By the way, how sticky is that putty? Could it rip of the paint when removing the putty?
Cheers Christian

Nice shading & great looking decals. US NAVY had some of the best looking color shows before everything went BW... keep up the good work, very nicely evolving build 👍

You are doing a very nice job. I´m following. I would like to buy that kit but I am a bit afraid of old Hasegawas. Is this a good quality kit?

Shading is cool, but look at that wash! Looks like printed, how did you do that? 🙂

Thanks for the positive words, it makes up for the effort 😄
@philoticmodeler, yellow decals are trash. I mixed about 70:30 AK RealColor FS16440:MrColor 329 Yellow. Thinned with RC lacquer thinner, masked with Tamiya tape, then layerly airbrushed. The split edges by the fuselage were a pain 🙂
@christian bruer, I am in transition to only use AK RealColor, MrColor and Tamiya colors, as they all thin nicely with RC lacquer thinner which is my fav fluid on the bench recently 🙂 I don't know what to do with all the acrylics now 😠 The putty is not at all sticky. It looks a bit oily but is not. It ismore sillyputty than blutac. The slower you work it the easier it goes. Silly 🙂
@Augustin Prellezo, I did not have to putty it much. some gaps at the bottom. The panel lines are already recessed and compared to Tamiya Intruder which I built last year, this one has more detail allover. Just the darn Hasegawa decals... I swear I will buy aftermarket next time I build a hasegawa. Anyone know where I can buy Solvaset in Europe?
@Lukasz Glinski, I was surprised myself how technical it turned out 🙂 Scribing all the panel lines first with tamiya weird looking scriber - easy does it, on pic#11 you can see some slip-ups 🙂 Then using lacquer instead of acrylics which means no primer. After painitng, gloss coat, I used Mr Color gloss thinned with guess what 🙂 Then decals. Then one coat of some future knockoff, airbrushed unthinned 🙂 Then "AK panel wash for grey" on gray and "Tamiya grey panel liner" on white. Then two coats of Mr Super Clear matt from spray. Really surprised how matt completely covers transition between decal and surface.

I played with Tamiya smoke a bit too much, stay tuned for final pics then judge how Navy never had so durty planes, but it was fun for me 🙂
Next gray-over-white project will be Airfix A-4B scooter, I need a break from Hasegawa 😄
Thanks for comments and following.

Thanks Sergej, I supposed you had to rescribe the stuff 🙂 On the other hand it surprised me you spray the lacquer stuff without the primer. I have to test it on my own soon. 👍
