Is enamel paint thinner and acetone from hardware store the same as testers enamel thinner
17. January at 21:22:11 Share
Gordon Sørensen Acetone is an ingredient in enamel thinner. It is often better to use lacquer thinner in place of acetone, because acetone on its own has a much faster evaporation rate than lacquer thinner. Lacquer thinner has other ingredients besides acetone.

JD It is always wise to experiment on a piece of scrap, maybe you can answer your own question! Good luck!

JD I hope that didn't come across as anything other than friendly advice...I meant it in a good way!

JD Don't forget Roland, there are newbies here...go easy on us!

JD Oh I agree...I suggest starting with acrylics when learning, as they are water-based, and the least toxic.
