After some online searching, I found 4 more tempered glass shelves for $53!!! Now I have plenty of space to add completed builds and keep them away from the cat.

Hubba Hubba! *cat whistles* That cabinet is FIRE! If only I had the space... But you know I just make my own space 😛

I saw that. You just have to do what you can as time and money allow.

What is the red truck and trailer combo on the 3rd shelf? It looks old school and funky... and like it needs to be on my shelf instead 😛

The truck is the only die cast I have (it was a gift), It is a COE with sort of a roll back. It is a placeholder for when I finally finish the 2nd Kenworth T600. The trailer is an AMT 5 car hauler that has been gussied up and slightly modified.

Thank you Bob. I am a happy camper. With the new shelves I am only at about 35% capacity. The next step is finding (or making) some acrylic risers but I need to build a lot of semis first.

Nicey, niceity, nice! The more models fill it, the better it gets! Glass cabinets and the only way to store/display models/collectibles, makes the collection look that much more awesome, and that always a good thing 🙂. Cheers!

Nice work Bill. I think you're gonna need another one though buddy. These rigs take up some room! Did you ever have any issues with the top of the car hauler, not fitting correct and falling through? I didn't really explain that very well. I mean the moveable part, that allows you to let cars in the lower level? I have with mine. I tried a little heat, but it's not cured it. One side appears to be slightly warped.

Bozzer, on both of them, the pivot points are miraculously still the wimpy plastic pins on the original parts. At the tails, I actually notched the ramps to lay properly on the lower level. The cylinders were installed but I left them disconnected at the top to prevent strain on the afore mentioned pins.

Thanks Bill. After I get the backlog of kits out of the way, I'm gonna take another look at it. I'm thinking about adding some kind of L shape strip, that slots in, when it's down? That should solve my issue, hopefully.

If you only have sag in the middle, it should not take much.

Just an update of my cleaned/dusted display case with my builds as of 2021. I found some long clear trays to act as risers for any semis displayed in the back rows.

With my latest group of builds done, it was time to reposition the contents of my display case. My quantity and quality has definitely improved over the years. I could not even fit them all on the table. If anyone has any curiosity about a particular one, I will be happy to answer any questions.

Album info

Now that I am building again, I wanted a safe place to display my models away from our cat and future toddlers. I do not have that many models built (yet) but I started looking on Craigslist and found this beauty for $90. It is wide enough to accommodate the length of a built semi truck rig and deep enough for two side by side. It presently has 4 glass shelves but I could add more down the road. It has a light in the top and a mirrored back panel.

UPDATE 5-16-19: Added 4 more glass shelves. Now I have more space than completed builds. I better get to building!

UPDATE 1-21-24: I have been accomplishing some build the last few years. I have rearranged the contents.
