Engine cowling is too oval. This means cutting, sanding, hoping that it will fit together again

Wright Cyclone in place. Now it's an aeroplane!
Primer revealed some minor issues. Also showed that the stressed skin effect turned out too subtle!
First attempt ever to mottle an aluminium airframe
First camo colour: Oudblad, which is FS34102, over aluminium with masking fluid on wing walk ways
Mottling over green base coat
Colours I used. Next is several thin coats of FS34102 mixed with a little white
Still some weathering to do

Klaas van der WielenThanks. That is one of the reasons to build it. I think the F-16 is beautiful, but I've seen it built too often.

Klaas van der WielenThanks Ben. I first gave the plane an aluminium coat and sealed it. Then I applied masking fluid with a piece of sponge on the places which would be worn or exposed to wind flow the most. After camouflaging I simply rubbed the masking of. Because I found the aluminium too bright I toned it down by spraying highly dilluted camouflage green over it.

Ben MThank you. I think I will try this on one of my current builds, I like how you were able to control where the chipping happened like in the wing leading edges.
