I decided it was time for a late war 109 and Eduard's new Wilde Sau kit has some nice options for Erla G-10s. The main build is complete with no issues and it's time for painting. I selected Yellow 5, which Eduard depicts as a solid green RLM 81, but I'm going to paint a low contrast dark green and brown RLM 81 camo pattern. Here are some photos of the office and priming steps, including the metal finish on the underside of the wings. Weathering will be very light since this plane was manufactured just before the end of hostilities and was probably grounded most of the time.

Thanks mates for the encouraging comments. Much appreciated.

The main camo is now complete. I used Mr. Color RLM 83 for the green and a 3:2 mix of Mr. Color RLM 81 and Red Brown for the brown color. My target was to minimize contrast between the colors when viewed in B&W and this combo worked perfectly. I kept the fading and shading to a minimum since the aircraft was just out of the showroom. I reused a set of Montex masks for the crosses and masked off and painted the wing walk lines. The blue-white-blue RV band was painted before the camo and masked over.

Time for a gloss coat and decals.

Thanks for looking.

Yellow 5 is now complete. Since the last update, I applied gloss coat, the decals (mostly stencils), an oil panel line wash and basic weathering. After some light touch ups I added the final assemblies and it's done. Thanks for looking.

All: Thanks again for the comments. As a quick update on this model, it was able to achieve a silver medal at IPMS Jaxcon on February 9, 2022. Thanks again.
