Glad to see more 3D printing being used in our hobby. The engine looks like a great set. The kit is coming out nice too.

Thanks Nathan, 3d printing is definitely becoming more affordable, and the level of detail available from SLA printers making the designing your own parts in smaller scales feasible.

That engine looks really good... wonder how it looks painted. The quality of the printing sure looks impressive. Is it expensive? Only thing I'm not really fond of is the preshading. i've seen this way of preshading, but it looks to pronounced...

Bart, I have just added a couple of pictures of the engine, it still needs the ignition wires adding etc, I`ll put up some more when its finished. Cost wise, a little difficult to say, I think in terms of the amount of resin used its probably about £5/$6.5, but obviously there is the outlay for the printer itself, mine cost around £300.

£300? sounds affordable for the quality shown, what printer do you use?

@whiteladder which cad software do you use?

I use an 3d Printer made by a company called AnyCubic and the model is the Photon. I use Autodesk Fusion 360 for the actual design, this is free to use if you are a hobbyist. This is really easy to use, there are loads of tutorials on youtube.

like what you did with the engine and the hull... paintwork on the wings I'm not really fond off... looks more like a chessboard to me.

That isn't all that expensive for what you are capable of doing. In the long run, the money savings will be great. Engine looks fabulous.

High mark,if you print off a vulture you could do a side by side Typhoon,Tornado.

Good idea David, I'll see if I can find some scale drawings of the Vulture.
