Album info

After a series of restorations, I wanted to do something quickly. Let it be 'out of the box' project.

Kubelwagen from Tamiya? Good one.
The box has been lying for a couple of years, from the very moment when I realized that the old "Kubel", assembled in the 90s, has no chances to be restored/upgraded. It was so outdated (the mold of 1970) that the company did not even begin to improve the mold, and developed a new "from scratch" in 1997.

There is not much to tell about the model: everything fits together well, it is going well. The only point that required putty was the gap between the hood and dashboard.

Among the additions was the Voyager Model etching kit, which I used almost completely.

The largest difficult was the tent. I forgot to order a tent between other aftermarkets earlier. In the set, this part is not much of a copy. I decided to use the etched framework, but what will be used for tent itself? But how to pull the awning on this openwork structure? Whether it's paper or film, everything will be skewed.

After reviewing hundreds of Kubelwagen's photos, I was relieved to find several in which the tent was simply rolled up and fastened with belts. This greatly simplified my task. In general, I have never done awnings before, so next time it will be better 🙂

I didn't want to get the chassis very dirty. Limited to a small dusting of tires and moderate soiling of the body. After all, sometimes cars are clean 🙂
