I did not think that this kit gave so many problems. The effort was worth it. Good work. Congratulations!

Thank you, the result is quiet ok. But this was the kind of building experience like: bring it to an end ...somehow.. but finish it.
I should have given more attention to some details and the paintwork, especially the wearing and shading but i just wanted to get that thing of my workbench 🙂

Thank you Gareth...much appreciated.... @all of course i meant the Fujimi offering of the Val.
Better than the old Airfix tooling is the Cyber-Hobby Dragon for sure.

Daniel, where did you get the display base?
12 September 2020, 17:20
Daniel Klink
Hi Tom thannk you yap they are mostly looking elegant and sporty.. 👍
@Cuajte hm, i remember i bought a apsir of them one was US navy deck and this Akagi deck.
But I cant remember the Manufact but i think it was HM(Hobbymaster) They are complete in Plastic, already printed. It is several years ago that i bought them, i really cannot remember.
But i saw them recently at amazon but it seems they are out of Production and
sold out everywhere. !?

Thank you, Daniel. I thought I saw that it was HM, but I needed confirmation. A few years ago I wanted to get some of these display bases, because they are in relief and I think they have a better result than the printed ones, but they seemed a bit expensive. Now they are not easy to find.

I paid 15 euros for both as i remember..
They re really not bad and with some weathering they really make a good base.
Better as most of the printed fotopaper things...

Awesome build. It's disconcerting that such a nice model in the box has massive gaps when you build it.

Daniel, PM? I have not any US carrier base.

You got a private message mate 🙂

Nice result Daniel👍, you've saved it. I have also one so I'm afraid of the build. In my case the problem is always between chair and the kit????.

Lovely job, always nice to see one in the dark-green Japanese color tone!

Cool handling of the typical wear & tear and general "Pacific look", nice one indeed 👍

@Daniel, I think this kit by Cyber-Hobby is without rear gun? Is it true? But I can see one in your masterpiece.
26 October 2020, 08:07
Daniel Klink
Thank you Henry for your very warm and envouraging words mate 👍
@David correct, therer are no weapons or Seatbelts etc included in this kit.
Fine Molds offer them seperately and the kits manual refers to them.
Thank you for the compliment sir, much appreciated. 👍

Thank you for the tip I´ve found IJN Type 92 gun. I have to find some spare parts for the base of the gun.

@David cool but before you start take a close look at the Cyber Hobby Instructions..
They are irritating in some spots

Album info

This was my third AIrcraft Kit after restarting the Hobby after a 10 years Break in 2014.
I got the kit as a special offer for about 15€.
And it was a painto build.. Major Fitting issues and not quiet accurate as you would expect for the original Price of ~30€. Especially the engine fitting to the fuselage was a fight.
But see the pictures. I finally brought it to a Result. I will do the AIrfix offering in the nearby future.
Then i will see if the problem was the man or the kit 🙂
