Yeah, this was one of the better birthdays I have had in a long time. My wife has seen me struggle trying to afford the kits and supplies I need to be a builder again, and snuck this in right under my nose! I could not be happier!

Thanks for the birthday wishes guys! Now it's back to my WIP F-15A glacier speed build. I finally have the color and the primer I have been looking for to restart the build. It's my first build since the late 80's, so probably a throw away test bed for the new tools and toys I have acquired over the last year. Just cross your fingers that my airbrush still functions and my compressor will operate normally. That is the last hurdle to cross.

Cheers,

Anthony

Thanks to the new wishes, I could talk for hours about this surprise and this specific kit that I have literally been chasing for almost a full year, for her to find one already in the Philippines, it was meant to be. Amazing!

Album info

Well in an amazing twist of fate, my wife has pulled off a super trick! For over a year, I have been looking for and drooling over the Academy MH/CH-53E'S in 48th scale. From all the reviews, these kits are first off, HUGE! As a helo copter buff/blooming "rotor-head". I have looked high and low, far and wide, and no luck came to me. The ones on ebay, sold long before I had money to buy them, so that was an exercise in frustration. Low and behold, I found one here on scalemates. I let the seller know that I did not, and would not have the money for at least 4 months, but he agreed to hold it for me. Then his friend pulled a "godfather" move, and gave him an offer he could not refuse. I understood and thought that I might never find my "unicorn" kit.

My wife apparently paid attention to my constant murmurs about the unicorn kit, and in a very strange twist of fate, she accidently found one on sale, and more amazingly, the kit was already in the Philippines where we live. So she pulled off the "Hail Marry" birt
