Krupp Kugelpanzer

"The Attack"

Attack on a German marching column in the French hinterland. The dynamite is well hidden and the fuse burns. Now you should go slowly to cover .....

The Kugelpanzer was a prototype tank manufactured during world war II by the famous Krupp company. It was one of the most unusual tank ever built. It is believed that the spherical tank should become a one-man reconnaissance vehicle. The ball tank should be armed with a MG34 or MG42. However, the opening for the weapon was subsequently closed with a metal plate. The last known exemplar of the Kugelpanzer is now in the Kubinka Tank Museum in Russia.

gorbygould This thing actually existed! I've seen illustration and models of it before but assumed it was a steampunk thing. Learn something every day.
Lovely job. Excellent figure painting for such a small scale.

Frank Krüger Guys, thank you for your kind comment! I am very happy about it. :)
To the question, whether the tank really existed:
There are no documents available for this tank. Neither design plans, test report nor report on a combat mission. Nothing! My story about the diorama is invented! Artistic freedom ... ;)
The last known exemplar of the Kugelpanzer is now in the Kubinka Tank Museum in Russia.
