Christopher Mullins My 5 year old saw the ship box and said he wants it to hang in his room. I built the sup assemblies before I took any pictures, there are not a lot of parts, but detail on the hull is pretty good. A couple of the parts didn't fit too well together anymore, it is an old kit. From 97 I think it is. I do like this class of ship though, I think they look pretty good.
29. November 2018 at 16:10:34
Christopher Mullins Now I have the top of the hull finished, and the nacelles, next step is to work on the bottom of the Hull. Using MM paints mostly, Duck Egg Blue and intermediate blue, plus Revell Yellow and Aluminum.
5. December 2018 at 12:10:41
Christopher Mullins Been taking my time here, got a little touch up to do and then put the decals on and its finished. Think it looks pretty good.
14. April at 12:29:16
Christopher Mullins The decals:very old, very yellow. It took a lot of time to get then on, more than 7 hours. The yellow does come off, but you have to dip the decal in water, wipe it off, wet it, flip the decal over, wipe it, wet it, and pray it is not in 5 or 6 pieces by the time you get it on. The only problems I really had with breakage were the stripes, the rest came off and went on without much trouble. Now the mistake I made. On the Nacelle pylons the re are Starfleet symbols but i got a couple of em upside down because i wasn't paying enough attention, not really that noticeable though, unless you look really close.

27. September 2018 at 13:46:58
Christopher Mullins New decals are there, and old ones stripped off. Wasnt exactly an easy job though but I got it done.
29. December 2018 at 11:10:31
Christopher Mullins So the decals that came with the model sucked. I bought new decals, they sucked too, fell apart when they hit the water. The original ones had the wrong blue, pictures on the internet from the real bird show a dark blue. The new decals had a similar color, so now I am going to paint them on the best I can. Really they look better painted on than with decals most the time, but painting stripes is a real challenge, even with masking them because getting them strait is pretty hard, at least for me. Also, the instructions didn't show any colors for the propeller hubs, but the pictures of the bird on the internet show that they are white with the red, yellow, and blue stripes as well.I painted the blue stripes on already, they look good I think except for the band on the fuselage, they turned out way too thin and not very even. I will upload pictures when I get it looking decent again. I also plan on finding a better model and doing a green over grey camo job with a certain nose-art that I like.

Christopher Mullins Painted the body parts, also glued the side mirrors on last night to make the painting easier and all. Already have a small problem, gonna have to sand the roof down and put a new coat on it because the paint stuck to the newspaper. Oh well, no big problem. I love this color of green on these cars, it just looks cool somehow.
17. June at 10:45:05
Tim Heimer Is that the Sublime green? That's a great pick!
17. June at 13:06:16
Christopher Mullins It is Tamiya TS 22, says light green, but I would say its bright green. Light green is more like what they use on the bottom of Russian Aircraft. I think it is a good match though. I just love me a Hemi cuda, would love to have a real one, my dream car. Probably couldn't afford the gas for it though.
20. June at 07:47:22
Tim Heimer Lol! No doubt on the gas! I think I like the color you used because it's like the Sublime green but different.
20. June at 13:35:16
Christopher Mullins Closest I could find to Sublime Green on a Budget
10. July at 17:06:30
Munkyslut Yes it's Sublime......... sort of! The Dodge catalogue called it Sublime, the Plymouth catalogue called it Limelight.
I'm sure Testors do all the old Mopar muscle car colours?
10. July at 17:17:19
Munkyslut Either way it looks gorgeous ;)
10. July at 17:17:57
Tim Heimer I've got to find Citron yella paint! LOL! Testors does make the sublime green which seems to be a popular color now days But I like the subtle difference Chris has, it does look good!
10. July at 17:45:01
Munkyslut Those Mopar colours were awesome, my Challenger was Top Banana from factory & I wanted to paint it Panther Pink to start with but the import costs from the States was just too expensive.
10. July at 19:03:25
Christopher Mullins Yeah, that is why I used Tamiya, Testors and model master paints are expensive to get here in Germany. Sometimes I can find em but it cost about 5 or 6 Euros for a jar of paint so I try to use Revell, Humbrol, or Tamiya sprays which I can all get locally. I am not at all impressed which Revell paints, they only have very basic colors, except for maybe the Lufthansa colors and I think their Panzerdunkelgrau is good. Thier Panzer dunkelgelb is terrible and when you spray it with a clear coat, it changes color to soemthing more like burnt sienna. Humbrol colors are fine but some of them are so old that i get here they are barely usable. I do order Model Master colors when I need something specialized, like the RAL and RLM Colors because I think Model Master does them good. Unfortunately some of their colors dont give anymore, like the Armor sand and camouflage grey,

Roberto Rocat What a beautiful aircraft, good progress.
19. October 2018 at 17:21:09
Christopher Mullins finally finished it, decals on the tail didn't fit like usual, but with a little paint and a clear coat turned out OK. Gonna have to think of some other camo schemes for my other Jap fighters though

Christopher Mullins not quite last night i finished the chrome and details on the body, then I worked on my C 47 a bit so it could all dry, Just got to put the windshield and stuff in and do final assembly.
7. July at 09:57:58
Cesar Muniz looking great!
7. July at 13:01:22
Christopher Mullins Well, its finished but I messed up the windshield, and cracked it down the middle. I guess I could say the driver hit a Bird or somethin. Other than that I think it turned out pretty good. Didn't do the ignition wires though, maybe Ill do it later. Just FYI, I used the Camel Yellow for the body from Tamiya, but I did touch up with a Revell color, 310 Lufthansa Yell;w, haven't really looked at it in daylight yet, but it seemed to match pretty good.

Christopher Mullins This is almost finished, just have to add the firing mechanism, not going to melt plastic like it says though, just going to use a piece of nylon thread I think, melt a hole into the firing mechanism to hold it in place with some superglue, should work fine, but going to need some kind of base to hold it together maybe, have to think about it.
