Those shelves of yours look a lot more sturdier than the flimsy ones I bought for cheap for my technical room. The ones I have looks like some thin sheet metal, I don't really like them, but I only have small stuff on the shelves. I also had to find shelves within some given dimensions, to fit precisely into a corner between some other stuff. :|

I see you have set yourself up nicely. The stash shelves are extending to the needs of the extending stash! Wish I were so lucky!

Alexander Grivonev
Nice mancave👍

Oh and do I see airplanes in your stash? 😄

What will you do in a few years time, when you've finished that lot Pete? Good to see the new home and your diverse interests - very nice set up.

Nice pick up Alexander! I am famous for NOT building hairy planes! I bought the Mig and Sabre off Christian B last year and Kerry Cox donated the Huckbein. One day when I am in the mood?
J Dub! Nice to see you are haunting the hallowed halls still! Since I retired the "output" has increased a little bit.

Glad I'm not the only one that buys several of the same kit. Looking forward to when we eventually move and I can build the hobby complex.

Great stuff Mate. 👍 I really like your stash and new compressor, and your big spray booth 😄

Slavo Hazucha
Nice bike shop!😉 Time to burn some rubber! 👍

Chaz, that was a little trick Kerry Cox wised me up on. I will admit to collecting the KR500 Kawasaki's, I have 5.
Rui, I am a firm believer in "If you lack the talent, buy better tools"! Having invested in excellent tools I can improve what I do a little.
Slavo, you will have to wait a little longer, the Range Rover is next then Kerry and I will build the Romfels when he stays with me in May.
So maybe one of the Honda's then? Maybe I should ask my Scalemates???

Spanjaard
very nice Peter!

Well said Peter, but I'm sure that in the case of the tools I mentioned, you would be equally very capable if you didn't have them 🙂

Peter Hardy RETIRED?!? God help us... 😄 😄 😄 Seriously now, looking magnificent 👍

Disappointed that I don't see any large scale in that stash. If you enjoy the Lotus you're doing, you'd love a Tamiya 1:12 F1. The Tyrell 6 wheeler is still on current release, and should be fairly reasonable price out your way. You can even get the First National decal set for the blue white livery on the early car. Although I am tempted to vote for one of those imai kits you have, curious to see how basic/inaccurate they are. I loved doing my Thunderbirds pilots, but they were so basic they seemed like they should have been obtained from a cornflakes packet.

Chaz! Wash your mouth out! I have four 1/9 scale bikes in the stash! 2 Casey Stoner Ducati's, an MV Augusta and a Kawasaki KR350! Bigger cars may be on the horizon but I still have a hankering for early wooden spoke horseless carriages. That 3 wheel ICM Benz looks interesting too. I get carried away with super detailing and with the bikes I know what goes where but with the 4 wheelers I am not familiar with.
Alec K, yes retired. Woke up Monday morning and smiled!
Spanjaard, thank you!
Rui I'm just having fun! I have my limitations and push them little by little. Love my hobby and my Scalemates!

There is plenty to build and more than enough to follow here on SCM. Nice stock, Peter

Wait.....don't all build rooms have a drum set and a treadmill?
22 March 2021, 05:57
Peter Hardy
Lode, did you notice the Liberty ship? I bought it to do that dazzle camo we talked about?
Bossy, I might need some help with all those bikes!

One kit missing is the LSM by Revelle. That will change. 😉
22 March 2021, 09:16
Chaz Gordon
OK, I'll give you the 1/9 kits, I guess they are the bike equivalent of 1/16. I'm still looking out for that Tamiya 1/6 FLH with sidecar.

very nice kits to build !

Oooh! Would love to help but i've got my own costly collection of bikes to do. And like you, I even have a tank or two and the odd airplane. I wish mine were stacked as neatly as yours.

I need to show my wife this picture and say " See I don't have too many unmade models and it's not weird to have the same model twice"

I am looking, looking, and looking and can't find any shark-mouthed aircraft kits… 😉
3 January 2022, 13:05
Spanjaard
We have to give one to Peter, he loves them 😄 😄
3 January 2022, 15:58
Spanjaard
@Mark, good luck, I tried that, it did not work 😄 😄
And I was using pictures of much bigger stash than Peter has 😉

Aren't you worried about large temperature changes. My garage goes through major changes (Arizona). Summer I can use it as a sauna or watch my model slowly warp. Winter it is cold but just above the temp to make water a solid.

It looks almost as a shop, but a very organised one. Just kidding mate. I wished I had cave like yours
3 January 2022, 20:35
Spanjaard
I wish that the first model shops I used to go (a long time ago) had such a great assortment ....🙂

ha ha ha, are you confusing my age with Peter's? 😛

Nice setup! I like the double wide spray booth.
4 January 2022, 13:47
Jarrett
Awesome workspace! I noticed a garage door but too small to be a garage, a small storage locker/shed...? I am asking because I am thinking about getting one of those she/he sheds for my model building.

Peter Hardy
Mark, I actually have 5 Kawasaki KR 500s!

Alec K, Never was, never will, and now you blokes would haze me good if I ever did!

Robbie, I used to live in Central Queensland with summer temps in the high 40s. Paint racks warped, masking liquid dried and models warped. Now living in Crows Nest in South East Queensland about 1000 kilometres south of where I did live. We are 540 metres up and nice and cool most of the year. Not worried about models warping here!

Lode, you don't need a stash, you need a welding works to build those huge ships!

Martin and Spanjaard, another birthday coming up this month. What did you buy me?

Ben M, I bought the booths to paint a 1/35 scale PT boat. It did fit, just!

Jarrett, it is actually a single garage inside a low set brick house. You can only see half the garage door. It is great for airing out the room after using 2k clear. Just press the button and the door becomes a huge open window.

Oh, another nice kit shop near by you! 👍
And I like the Ford-T and the Triplane 😉

Bugs, have you done the Renault taxi? That'll be my next car build.
5 January 2022, 10:36
bughunter
No, I thought about that (the red one is also available from Heller) but we have not enough space for the finished model 🙁
Have fun with this kit - the ICM kits are nice 👍
5 January 2022, 10:51
Jarrett
That is great, nice area indeed, and fresh air is always nice when using chemicals lol. I'll probably end up with a room or two in my basement that I have started finishing this month. I'll be definitely be following your progress.
5 January 2022, 16:28
Peter Hardy
Bugs, I'll post the taxi when I do it and you can see if you want to do it. I'm building an OOB Mercedes G4 at the moment, and earlier ICM kit that Kerry Cox bought me. It is fighting me all the way! I will no doubt learn from my mistakes and buy one to complete with some jewellery added!

Jarrett, it is perfect for my set up. You will notice a lack of trucks in the stash, 5.5 million kilometres is enough, I am over trucks.

Man. That paint rack is impressive! What a great gift. And what a great workspace looking through the other pictures. I am relegated to the covered dining room table as there is nowhere else to go.

Makes a nice cave even nicer!
I spotted on pic 4 a piece with three wings, right of the Ford-T 👍 Now I will wait for a build of it! But it's probably better not to hold the breath?

I can only dream of such a man cave. I'm jealous Peter

Bugs, you never know, I may just, one day!
Lode, After living in company supplied housing for the last fifteen years I am enjoying being able to "modify" the house! I am lucky in many respects, living in Australia where space is not a rarity, having a wonderful wife who enjoys watching my projects come together and living long enough to reach retirement and have the time. The last point was touch and go a couple of years ago, and the first was just an accident of birth. The second point is the only one I have had any control over, and I am very happy I found her!

Kyle DeHart
Peter where do I send the SMS lacquers? 😂😂 Haven't found any yet but I'll work on it. Nice job on the wife. I too am lucky in my wife. She doesn't care about modeling one but apart from enjoying seeing what I build and occasionally she likes to pick a kit out or a color for a kit. Gives me no complaints about my stash or the amount of room I take up.

Having nice neighbors is a bonus too, imho 👍
