Richard Cheals RDF195 was purchased in 1972 for US$250, 52,000 miles & set of winter tyres/rims included (for the Michigan winters, that's where the rust came from!). 428 cu.in V8 & 3-speed auto, on full detent it would upshift from 2nd to 3rd at 90 mph! Ran it for two years as second car & sold in '74 for $250.
The model was first built while I was still in the US and over the years/moves it had deteriorated to a rather sorry state so had been disassembled and languishing in a box for the last 30 years or so. I had the remainder of a can of Tamiya gloss black and should have decanted it for the airbrush but didn't, which was a mistake and so I ended up sanding it back again and using Vallejo model color. No polishing or waxing to better represent the real car. Hubcaps are not correct, but close enough.
Richard Cheals Thanks guys, still getting back into the groove, it's been 15 years since the last serious build. Still need to fire up the airbrush and try out my new spraybooth. There's another kit identical to this one in the stash, but I'll move on to something else for now.
