Straight out of the box build with no aftermarket anything. Attempting to use the paints listed in the directions, although I might substitute here and there with other paints to keep things going.
Primary goal: Have fun! Secondary goal: Make a kit I'll enjoy having in my display cabinet.

The directions indicate that the cockpit tub should be XF-19. This is a very light color, almost indistinguishable from the natural color of the sprue. Sticking with it, maybe it'll look better after a wash.

Is it on sale already? Probably won't see it here until well into the new year...

I was surprised to find out that it was on sale here in the USA. I guess a few vendors got them a little earlier than the New Year!

First night complete. 80% done with the initial cockpit tub work. Happy with the kit. A very, very good value for $40.
I don't normally do decal instrument panels, but I am doing so with this kit and they look pretty good. With a lot of Tamiya Mark Fit, they settle into the surface details well. They are so small they are hard to position because you literally cannot see to judge their alignment.

Second night complete. Detailed the cockpit and front wheel well then mated them and joined the front fuselage halves.
I am very happy with progress and how it looks, but boy do the photos really surface every flaw. In person it looks great, in the pictures it looks like a hot mess!
Tomorrow move onto construction of the central fueselage!
