So I've found some old pictures of my origin and make few new photos of an unbelievable book of paper models. It has 6210 parts on more than 400 pages. I've made only first part of four. It was more than 1 meter long and can be divided into 5 parts. It ended in secondary grammar school of ny dughters as a study material:-D. May be this is a reason why I like photo etches 😉.

I was only thinking a couple of days ago that most models are of machines, and very few of buildings - now a whole model city!
Very impressive David.

Very cool! I also grew up on ABC paper models. Occasionally I will do one as a distraction from plastic modeling. They are fun to do 👍

Thank you mates, I've tried to post something different here. As I remember I've spent hundreds of hours on it.
@Neuling: Vielen dank😉
@Alec You grow up in Czechoslovakia or how did you get ABC? I've built more than 25 F1 race cars, building technics, wonderfull ships and many other buildings, but all has gone. Have you seen current ABC? It is very sad how it looks now and paper models are so poor. Everything is so simple to be built in two hours max🙁.

That's a project for a whole school class! 🙂 Great work!

Hey David - I grew up in CˇSSR in early 70's, born 1 year earlier than you. Subscribed to ABC as most boys did, built all I could. F1 cars, some buildings, tanks, tried the pirate ship (did not finish...). Loved the comics 👍. Yeah, the mag is not what it used to be, but things change everywhere. I am surprised it is still going. I did build few paper models during last several years, I'll post some pics eventually. Worked on the original Hunt's F1 recently, lots of fun 👍

Is it supposed to be Prague? The bridge with the "entrance tower" certainly reminds me of Karluv Most.

Modeling like this makes me very happy because my roots are also cardboard (Mały Modelarz). But I never reached this level of quality and complexity. This is a piece of art.

Hey Alexander. The whole city is only fantasy of an author inspired by architecture in Czech towns. Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Telc... Also the bridge is only fantasy. Nor Charles bridge nor bridge in Pisek which is even older doesn't have a tower in the midle of it. The whole project mapped various architecture styles in city constructing. I think this is most complex model I know.

To @Alex. If you have some pictures of old ABC paper models, publish them. I am sorry I don't have more photos, but when I finish them I have no camera to make the pictures. And son of my sister destroyed all the models almost 30 years ago.

Unfortunately I only have pics of my recent paper builds, none of my original ones (they were probably pretty bad...). I was in Prague back when there was the Papírové Léto exhibition in 200X, so maybe I'll put those up 👍

Album info

Many light years ago🙁 I've started my career with these paper models. When I've finished the first part the whole city was produced in one book (2004), so I took some pictures how the source looked.
