Italeri's UH-1N Twin Huey in 1:72 scale

Album image #1
This kit's interior seem fairly crisp and nice I think.

there is a small kit part for the inside of the large air intake, but I couldn't make it fit, so I added some styrene. Should look nice after cleaning this up I think.

I like thinning the parts, to avoid everything looking like it has ~1mm thickness.

I think this looks sort of nice for a 1:72 kit. Some putty is needed here and there for the larger parts. The large front canopy clear part (not shown here) isn't 100% clear, which is a shame. Oh, I must remember to scratchbuild the door handles, because those do like door handles in real life.

I would like to think I am getting better at this. I left the center line in, so that I can see where it is. I removed all the detailing, to get to remove the two wipers that was molded (ohffs) into the clear part. I started with a 'medium' sanding stick dry, then wet with sponges 1500 and 3000 grit, and then wet with 4000, 6000, 8000, 12000 and then Tamiya coarse, fine and finish polishing compound.

Looks ok to me. Not 100% though, because I can still see some tiny scratches around the corners.

Album image #7
There is no mentioning of any nose weight, but I added some, just it case adding nose weight might be important. There aren't many places to add nose weight, so I put some tiny metal balls inside the hollow control panel, and some more under the floor.

I will try to get back to it soon. I have some annoyances and distractions in my life and lol although I have kit parts sort of lying around me, I want to find the time to settle down and work. 🙂

I can recommend this kit but without having checked the accuracy. Still, as pointed out by others, the nose has to be reshaped, which should be easy, just trim off the top side to make the nose point forwards, but maybe put some styrene on the inside to avoid sanding though the plastic. I can see myself building more than just one of this kit.
