I hadn't really planned to tackle the B-17 so soon after I started working on my B-24J project, but sometimes the stars align a bit. I won this off Yahoo! auctions Japan for $5 (though the S&H was a bit higher), so I was quite pleased because that's quite a bit better than I've seen it going for on eBay. I was a bit cautious at first because it was a "no (bottom to the) box" auction with a "all he parts should be there" comment. Although one of the pics showed part of the wing detached from the sprue, another pic clearly showed all four wing parts were clearly there. So I felt confident that if anything was missing it was likely small landing gear parts that I wouldn't need for wheels up anyway.

So when the package arrived today, much to my surprise I found there wasn't one, but rather TWO complete kits... minus a couple of broken prop blades that were floating around the bag... and one part of the wing. It wasn't two pics of the same kit, it was two different bags of kit parts. So now I have to recreated half a wing, but luckily I've got a part I can use to make a copy. Since I've got casting resin that needs to be used up... this project moves right up the list I guess.

OK, looks to be another cool project to go with the Me-262!!

Thanks guys. I managed to make a copy of the missing wing part. It's not perfect, and I managed to make it less perfect by breaking it in three while taking it out of the mould, but I should be able to use it. I had a couple of misfires on the casting, but I might see if fourth time's the charm.
