Album info

This is going to be a MAMMOTH undertaking of a GLORIOUS aircraft, the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress. She wasn't called the "Flying Fortress" for nothing, with no less than 12 Browning M-2 .50 Cal machine guns. She would on average carry 4000 lbs of bombs on board for a long journey mission. To add to that she could really take a beating and many times brought her crew of 10 home with the aircraft all shot to pieces and sometimes even barely holding together. This aircraft that I am building is a B-17G-35-VE named "Little Miss Mischief" of 91 BG/324 BS when she was flying around late 1944-45. What makes this B-17 unique is that she was severely dameged and a Col Frank Kamykowski decided to re-built her using the undamaged front portion and wings with the rear fuselage of an older camouflaged B-17G-15-BO called "Walleroo Mk.2". By the time she had been fully repaired she was made up of 13 different B-17's.
