Using Montex masks, the markings are now applied. Some stencil decals need to be applied and I've managed to brake a lot of parts, so all will need to be fixed!

Nice work Dave! Just one clarification: Swissair never flew the Ju 52 - the Swiss AF had 3 on strength.

I don't have the kit with the Swiss-Air markings!? I have used artistic licence to mix the (Montex) masks and what I see on the restored a/c that can be seen in the first photo.

The former Swiss AF planes are/were operated by a company named Ju-Air. They will not be back in the air before 2021 if at all.

Album info

The Junkers Ju 52/3m (nicknamed Tante Ju ("Aunt Ju" ) and Iron Annie) is a German trimotor transport aircraft manufactured from 1931 to 1952. Initially designed with a single engine but subsequently produced as a trimotor, it saw both civilian and military service during the 1930's and 1940's. In a civilian role, it flew with over twelve air carriers including Swissair and Deutsche Luft Hansa as an airliner and freight hauler. In a military role, it flew with the Luftwaffe as a troop and cargo transport and briefly as a medium bomber. The Ju 52 continued in postwar service with military and civilian air fleets well into the 1980's.
