Beautiful build, Alec! The wood effect is great, as is the rigging, despite your "laziness" 😉 Congratulations!

If you'd started with a Wingnut Wings quality kit to start with this would be a lovely result. The fact you started with with a kit which amounted to little more than scrap plastic makes the result absolutely remarkable. Although….
…. of course Bughunter won't be happy until you're laminating and carving your own props. 😉

Thank you guys for all the nice comments. Gorby, I am a little afraid that Bughunter actually sees this, to be honest… 😄

You've got nothing to worry about Alec, Frank's a pussycat.*

* (I have no idea if that statement is based on fact, or is an entirely fictional creation of my addled brain. He could be the 'Tiger' end of the pussycat scale as far I know.) 😉

Really like the wood

Thanks very much gents. The wood technique is from bughunter's workshop, with some minor tweaks. See his albums if you want to learn to do it the right way. It's actually surprisingly easy to do, but one must be patient and allow the oils to dry (I think we got a bit spoiled with the acrylic and lacquer paints). Cheers!

As always - nothing is left to chance during construction from front to back. Every single step is thought through and carefully implemented. Therefore a first-class result!

Top work! The wooden structures looks better than genuine wood!🙂

Thanks very much Mike and Ethan 😊

Bernhard: let's not say that too loud, lest Bughunter notices 😄 But seriously, the faux wood was fairly easy to implement. The finish is rather fragile, but otherwise fairly realistic. In this scale, real wood just does not look right imho.

Wow! Rigging in 1/72 scale. What's the secret?
