Tim Tried my first ever DIY decals on calypso tonight. Mixed results, but overall very pleased with how the life rings look after their name and home port decal application. Just need another coat of humbrol clear then weathering on main hull and decks

Łukasz Gliński I'm at the same point with my trawler - the lifesavers. Keep it up, it's gonna be awesome reference for future builders (perhaps me too)

Ben M Agree the lifesavers look fantastic! Great work with the custom decals.
Tim No problem. Even though I'm more focused on full hull ship models (I like seeing the hull design and propulsion) and only done two sea bases, I think ships look best on a sea base / diorama, and aircraft look best displayed in flight. I guess as they are built to work best in those situations and aesthetically pleasing as a result. Personnel preference of course.

Treehugger Ooh, now I felt like buying the Soya kit in 1:350 (I already have the photo etch) and make an ocean + ice diorama.

Treehugger I wish they made new mold kits of the old steam ships ships, like in 1:350 scale.

Spanjaard excellent. my favourites are 17/19 (submersible+sunken plane) and fisher of 54
Holger Kranich Really nice - Now you only need the 1:200 Trumpeter Titanic for your dio!

Treehugger Nice display piece. The photos ought to be color corrected though, to show the hull being white. I suspect the photos have an orange tint to them. In artificial lighting, I guess the reddish base plate might give the white hull a slight reddish tint. Presumably looking different with sunlight.
