Very slow work in progress on the NITTO/Brickworks 1/20 P.K.A. H1 Heinrich/Rüstsatz. Took all day just to build the leg, mine will have a nicer stance, plastic is very old and brittle, quite like onion skin, peels or snaps in odd ways. And tested out the Brickworks P.K.A H0-1 Rüstsatz parts. Basically better arms, leg armour and clear windows, at some point I'll add weld seams to the body shell.

What are you using for the armor texture? Looks like it might be a water based putty.

Another Ma.K.. watching 😎

Yep using water based putty for texture, easiest thing to use that I have. Worked really well on my GANS.

I'll be using the Brickworks shouting P.K.A. pilot for the Heinrich. Should look very good.

Legs done on the 1/20 NITTO Heinrich, just dry fitted so far, as I've not decided on pose. Much more natural stance. Brickworks body shell, knee armour and power coupling areas fitted. Looks like I'm building my Hornisse as a Fledermouse though, more about that soon.

At the same time as the Heinrich, im turning the Hornisse into a 1/20 NITTO/WAVE PKF 41 SeeFledermaus of the SDR NAVY, flying from the Strahl SuperCarrier SMS Nollendorf. Sits nice and level, I'll turn and raise the front nose gear, as its a NAVY bird. I'll magnetise torpedoes if I make any, and rig suitable hangers. A companion piece to my desert Falke. I still might build my giant Falke versus Hornisse inflight canyon diorama, maybe, possibly.....
This is going to be very good. When it's all closed up you'll see greeblies and wires through the air vents either side of the cockpit. Luckily the top mesh is very hard to see through, but you may make out a glimpse. Definitely a fun project.

An interesting subject.

Adding junk guts to the Seefledermaus, you'll only see them through the airintakes and the rear speed brakes, maybe a hint through the body grills. Saves seeing fresh air straight through the model though, does not matter whether its realistic, I'm going with rule of cool. Filling the void.

The beefed up landing gear, i want it to look like the German planes wheels from Raiders of the Lost Ark. also added more greeblies to the insides. Quite lucky that I'm using the wheels, as I think the weight of it would crush the skid undercarriage. When the inside is painted and weathered, probably won't see a lot, but there may be a hint.

Also thinking about possibly adding larger fuel tanks? Looks interesting.

I always thought the cockpit for the Fledermaus looked kind of nifty. I'll spruce it up with wires and bits of greeblie. Not struck on the plastic "glass" thought, it has a spider web on it, caused by a thin string of molten plastic falling on it when it was formed. It's not massively noticable, but i know its there, So I may create my own frame and windows.

That's enough for today then. Found some parts for Torpedoes, added wiring and plumbing to the cockpit area, just dry fitted. The cockpit area will be plumbed to the main body, even though you can't see it. Looking pretty sweet so far.

The bottle caps as interior turbine fan detail is a nice touch.

Incredible what you are doing, I am impressed about your creativity 😎

It's just like big boys lego, you just sort of know where bits go and what looks good ha 😀

Bum end of the beast, quite a big footprint, considering its smaller than a Falke. It's the outriggers that take up the space.

Very nice progress Ian.

Spent today building rocket engines, watching the 1980s Equaliser, and sorting through piles of bits, looking for suitable details.

Stuff you'll never see, part fifty five thousand. Innards of the SeeFledermaus, looks ok. Going to start closing up the hull, after I've added the cockpit. Always have a bits box, those things you think may come in handy one day, will. It's a shame this will all be hidden now... 😔

Added some more piping to the main engine area. Shall be putting more detail into the thruster bell and engine area too. The wires from the larger fuel tanks will be covered by A springs. I've connected the cockpit to the main body. Last pic shows what it could look like with two Torpedoes.... pretty cool. And that's enough for today.

Nothing exciting today, just customised some Rocket motors.

Nerdgasming with the adult Lego. This for me, is more fun than building an actual kit, almost as much fun as painting and weathering, it's very satisfying when you find the right part and it fits, and looks good where you put it. Awesome stuff.

And that's it until the new year, when I'll begin painting, finishing off the Torpedoes, small details, and lastly tackling the Cockpit.

Back in at the deep end after Christmas and the new year. Having fun messing about. With all the added weight, customised rocket engines, and Torpedoes, I'm going to need a big arrestor hook. Even though it can VTOL, it just looks cool, and it's my model. Nothing is glued, just playing with size and placement, I can chop the hook up, turn parts around, whatever I need to. I think I'll move it further back, off the engine bell, like in pic three. I'll scratch some mounts for it, so I can swing it up and down. Very enjoyable build so far.

Rear end, radio antenna and fuel, engine plumbing will keep this area busy and interesting to look at.

Just to show size comparison between a MK44 RobotBattleV AmmoKnight. Two completely different series, linked by Kow Yokyama. Maschinen Krieger is separate to RBV.

Toying with the idea of adding an inflight refueling probe? Also I chopped the canopy in half. Still testing fit, alignment and rule of cool.

Villiers de Vos
I am still nailed to my chair. I support the idea of an inflight refuelling probe.
