A lovely kit. My son (probably 8 or 9 then) built and unbuilt it many times. I should paint it too.
It's amazing how the Japanese still make models that are toys and incredibly well made too.

Nice interior - but the tank will be completely hidden I'm affraid... Or is there an option to make it visible?

Thanks !
@Slavo: the tank will be (a very little bit) visible through the cockpit hole. That's why only the front part has been painted

Lovely ! Have you finished it ?
I have yet to make mine. It's the 'late' model. I'm looking forward to Fine Molds quality !

fuselages... 3 for 1 ! The idea is to make a single NF.11 with:
- NF.14 / Sword (main body)
- NF.11 / Classic Airframes ...

Okay thanks for the info. But why not using the CA NF.11 fuselage with the Airfix tail? Saves cutting on the nose. Is the Sword NF.14 fuselage more accurate?

Well, the Sword kit is much better (details, general assembly, recessed lines quality). The wings and engines assembly is much better engineered.

Salut RV, Very interested on your approach to this one... I've been working on a U15 Meteor (Target Drone) using the CA kit, and I was not impressed... Then, seeing the Airfix kit come out, I have shelved the idea of a French NF Meteor until Airfix comes out with a NF kit. Just hoping !
How are the decals form the CA kit ?
And, btw, NF11-3 is here at the Musée de l'Armée in Brussels, in case you need some pics for reference.

@Boris: Thanks, I will let you know if I need some pics.
For the CA decals: the colors of the roundels are totally wrong, but the codes and stencils seem to be correct.

Count me in too! What a cool subject choice too. Off to a nice start, looks like there are some fit issues with this kit. I have one of these too, so I am eager to watch your progress!

Thanks !
@LucLuke B: the « real » color in the movie is quite not obvious for me. From a grey/light green finish (also recommanded by Fine Molds assembly guide), or shiny metallic finish in some scenes... I have chosen the metallic option, mainly by personal taste !

Apparently the models were (Savoia, Curtis etc.) were designed with the assistance of Studio Ghibli so it it can be supposed the colours are as they had seen them but that's not certain. And it is true it is difficult to interpret the colours from the animation, same as from a black and white picture. Anyhow your interpretation looks really good

Well... it seems that HB confused with the different versions of the Demon. This kit has the long beaver tail and is therefore an F3H-2N or 2M. All BuNos above 143403 were fitted with the short beaver tail . So I have selected the 137033, with a good reference picture, quite sober and elegant.

Well, the kit parts were totally bent and badly molded. The A -pillars were « floating »above the windscreen. So, I have replaced with plastic stripes.
