Thanks everyone. It's an enjoyable build so far, with only a few complaints (mostly about decals). I hope to have the decals done tomorrow, and have it cleared by tomorrow evening

You are a model building machine sir! Nice!

Ha. Donald, I actually started this one while I was waiting on the parts to finish the Mossie. And, there isn't really much to it. I'm a fan of Eduard's profipack kits.

I have the MiG-21R Profipack in the stash. I may get around to it sometime this year. LOL

It is looking very nice Derek. I have ordered the Air a Cutie version of the Eduard kit.

Clifford, it's good to see you're still on here. I think you'll enjoy the kit, though there are a few things that will drive you crazy.

I had some problems with the fitting to the cockpit to the fuselage and the front wheel bay. Will have to do better with the 2nd kit from the guadacanal box. 🙂

I don't plan on going anywhere. I have heard both good and bad about the kit. You know me I will not be defeated> LOL.

David, I had some minor issues, but luckily not the ones you described. It definitely had some quirks, and took some planning ahead to address things like the fit of the fuselage to wing joint.

Clifford, with few exceptions, the one thing I've learned is that modelers complain, about everything. I had read some strong criticisms of this kit and as I have come to find is *usually* the case, they were unwarranted. A modeler of your skill level should have no major problems (though don't misread me, it has some problems, just nothing fatal).

I played around with chipping using a prismacolor pencil. I had never tried that before. I also weathered this more heavily than I typically would, as Russian aircraft were used heavily.

In all, it was a fun, quick (two weeks?) build. I'd recommend it but nowhere near as strongly as I do Eduard's Spits and Hell cats.

Hi Derek, strangely the fit of the wings to the fuselage was fine. Maybe you can only have the one or the other with this kit. I can only advise to do extensive dry fitting if someone builds this kit.

David, no doubt: lots of dry fitting is key.

Thanks, all. This kit was solid if one takes a little time to dry fit. It's always easier to get a good product when the kit is good.
