A turboprop Meteor ! Completely new to probably not only me.......
Beautiful paintjob, all the scratched alterations you did look convincing and the engine bay looks realisticly busy and important.
Exemplary !

Thanks very much Hanno. 🙂
It's a shame they didn't realise the importance of it and save it from being scrapped.

Thanks you very much Robert! 🙂
Personally I think the Meteor looks better with props. They sort of suit it.

Thank you Zbynek, to everyone who has left a nice comment and everyone who has clicked 'like'.
As you're probably bored with seeing this go to the top of the feed, if anyone comments from now on I'll say thank you now. 👍

Album info

I was just going to build the bloody kit and then I saw the Trent Meteor….
On the 20 September 1945 the Trent Meteor became the first ever turboprop aircraft to fly.

The original kit is the 1/48 Tamiya Meteor F.1. Apparently there is a conversion kit, although by now it's as rare and as expensive as a real Trent Meteor. The scratch built bits are the tailplane; blanked off gun ports; extending the undercarriage and of course the props and spinners. I added a few bits to the engine bay (to busy it up rather than make it more accurate) the prototype marking were done using a home made mask and the decals have been adapted/altered from the kit decals..
It's far from a perfect replica, but I'm happy with it.

If you're wondering what happened to the V1 in the kit, that had a bit of a make-over as well.
