Now that's incredibly cool! The report is lovely too. I think of building this one every now and then:

Pity the IBG haven't thought of civilian Diamonds, there are lots of nice colours to choose from:

Thanks very much for the nice comments mates.
I like to to a civil version of military vehicles whenever I can. There doesn't seem to be many civilian tanks for some reason, I wonder why that is. I'd quite like one to go to the supermarket in. 😉
The masking was fun. A bit of complicated masking is as close as I get to a dangerous sport these days. Living one the edge. 😄

Ah, the Mandela Way T-34! I love that tank and the way it keeps changing:

I'm very tempted to do the pink one. 😉

Thanks mates. 👍 🙂

Oh man, just when I convinced myself to not buy the dumper version to do in civil colours... gotta go spend some money 😉
That colour-scheme really makes this stand out! Cool work 👍

First of all:the truck is phantastic! I really like the civilian painting! Well do e!

Thank you, that's a great honor for me to inspire a scalemate! I'm very proud of and happy about it! This worth more for me than every gold medal on any competition!

I'm very pleased you like it mate. If you stand about five meters away from it it could almost pass as being a quarter as good as one of your stunning models. 😉
Thanks for your comment. 👍 🙂

Thanks Frank.
I loved those old Matchbox models. I always was always careful with mine, so they were in pretty good condition when I handed them on to my (much younger) cousins. They destroyed every one of them within weeks. 🙁

I know what you mean you're a fan of zsolt's work!
The level is very high there😄
But I think you're getting close!- like your work!

Thanks very much again Simon. 🙂
I think I've got quite a bit of ground to cover to catch up with Zsolt and the other master modellers on Scalemates. The trouble is that I've got too many interests and too little patience to get that good.

I'm really enjoying having another look through your album, and admiring the rigging of the cables, and how you've set the front wheels to make the 'pose' much more interesting 🙂 Really nice results 🙂

Very beautiful wrecker. Convincing all around, particularly considering its scale.

Talking about civil tanks there is a Legend conversion of a T-55 to a yellow ZS-55 from a czech truck company in scale 1:35 I can recommend highly.
Talking about the Mandela Way T-34: I build this one once in scale 1:72 for a friend who wanted a pink tank.

Thanks Michael. I've just Googled the T-55 conversion and it looks great. Just off to have a look at your pink T-34. 🙂

Album info

Being a fan of Zsolt's miniature marvels I thought I'd try my hand with 1/72 vehicles, I mean how hard can it be?
Eeeerm… it turns out it's quite hard. I don't feel so much that I've reduced my modelling scale, rather that I've increased the level of self-inflicted masochism. I still enjoyed it… so what does that say about me?
As the all over olive green colour scheme provided in the kit is less than inspiring, I've gone a little over-board with the colour. It's not based on a particular truck, I'm not good with this 'base your model on reality thing'. Not so easy when you're not sure what 'reality' actually is.

There is a (boooooring!) build report, but don't expect the usual joke-fest, it's aimed to more informative than entertaining.
